    ... it's the game. King made his money and helped other's to make their money. It isn't his fault that you couldn't keep yours... money had to be made!

    The ends do not justify the means, and even the ends are debatable here. Bottom line - the guys who actually put their LIVES on the line for our entertainment, the fighters, were exploited by this scumbag.

    Ah, Don King - one of the wonderfully divisive issues among ESB. This and the JCC/Taylor ending are the two true 50/50 topics on here.

    For what it's worth, King was scum, and boxing never needed him.

    King is no different than any other scumbag promoter, he just happened at 1 point to be the best and because he is black, he was villianised more, case in point Bob Arum has been caught red-handed bribing the IBF, yet nothing happens to him, he completely freezes non Top Rank fighters out of the picture all the time, yet no one says much about the POS.

    Read the last quote by "The Great"... it sums up my point to you. In addition, no one forced those fighters to fight. They fought to make a living. Before Don King- very seriously now- they were making peanuts. Don King introduced the multi-million dollar pay day... bap!

    ... if there wasn't Don King, you would have Bob Arum with fighters getting less money for the same ****!

    If you contact some one, by telling them you will pay them a set amount for a fight, and you agree to it, he pays you what he promised, which was an agreed amount...You accept it, but find out later he made more money than you he is now officially a thief???:think



    The promoter, has to promote the event, market it, most big name fighters have their name to carry them, but before that??? Who put the money into them? Who paid for them to train? Why is it unreasonable for some one to expect a return in their investment. Also look at the complete rosters of DOn King, Golden Boy, Top Rank, Gary Shaw, DiBella, and Main Events. Of all those how many actually make money? and sell seats at venues? or PPV? In the mean time how are they eating??..........

    Talk all the **** you want, but if the guys don't like it, they can promote themselves, its America

    ... and Don King beats all of them together at one swoop. I can bet you that King made more money in one year at the height of his career than all of those other guys made in 10 years at the height of their career... and they all STILL bamboozled boxers! Don King gave fight fans memories...
