Let me ask all of you - Has there been anything overall worse than Al Haymon?

We all realize that to get in this cut throat game you have to be a greedy *******. Arum, King and other historical figures especially related to the mob back in the day were and are complete assholes. If you're a fighter you should already know this and have an attorney look over your contract bit for bit and if you don't, then you're an idiot for that. That even goes for Pacman, who's let Arum take huge chunks of it to no resolve. Pac in the ring - Brilliant. Pac as a man - good guy. Pac with financial - Dummy/Crazy.

Haymon has a semi good rep because supposedly he's getting fighters paid for low risks. Haymon is practicing the same type of business that all fight promoters practice in taking huge fees for his "services".

He's trying to monopolize everything and permeated into the sport this culture of low risk and high reward, which to us fans = fights not getting made, which = death of boxing. Mayweather retired in 2008 and came back in late 2009, this is around the time that Al Haymon took control of Mayweather.

The guy was a cherry picker prior to then, but the high paid/not fighting anybody thing took a new level when Haymon got on board.

Compared to Don King, who by all means is not a good guy, but made the biggest and baddest fights happen. Plus you have to wonder how overblown certain things are in that Tyson, Holyfield and others like Trinidad made millions and millions under King... getting 30 million dollar paydays in the 1990s for example and all 3 squandered their fortunes themselves. If King was taking a massive fee, they still were getting paid huge or else they wouldn't be ****ing with it to begin with. Tyson's individual net worth at one point was over 200 million, so obviously he made some money.

Arum and King have had no issue's really in making big fights happen. That is until GoldenBoy and Haymon came in with this new model, which both of these entities also have no idea how to raise a fighter like the old school ones did. You can bash Top Rank all you want, but Top Rank knows how to bring a fighter up properly. Top Rank utilizes the old school way of presenting challenges to the prospect in accordance to his development and Golden Boy/Haymon utilizes - "fight bums til an unworthy title shot", then "fight more overmatched guys".

*****'s of course don't know the difference. They are so entrenched into anything related to TMT that they even have a bone to pick against the opposing network that Haymon is no longer affiliated with - HBO. To me that's just insane.

So who would we rather have? Promoters taking big cuts and options that are making the amazing fights or promoters getting guys paid a little more still taking fees and options and making fluff fights?

Haymon is the absolute worst in history and the guy is looking to take over everything. If he had a small stable then he could focus on those guys getting paid, if you're signing up everybody up to risky journeymen, this is all going to collapse.
Also, why so secretive? Other boxing promoters/people are there to be seen. All we see are those dreadful chipmunk twins of Sam Watson.

Tell everyone you know to boycott Haymon PPVs. Low numbers equals the promotional elements knowing they need to stack cards like back in the day. Otherwise welcome to Showtime and HBO regular programming.

Well, to me the one who benefits the most from Al Haymon is Floyd Mayweather. Other than Floyd, now that only Showtime is in the Al Haymon business, their fighters will continue to realize that the grass is not so green on the other side.

Fighters are prideful, which is what makes them good fighters. Do not tell me it's good for Kid Chocolate to be stuck as the opening fight on a tripple header on Showtime. He wants the main event.

Problem is that because he has so many fighters, they are now stuck doing tripple headers, to get fighters dates, otherwise they are stuck without fights.

Floyd is the one who banks very good on Haymon, and many fighters see him blinging and want the same. So they are now willing to give up more of their purse for some advise from Haymon.

I could understand doing that if you had a choice, but if you currently do not have a choice. If it's only showtime bidding, why on earth do you need advise when it's only showtime bidding.

Example:

Khan: Al I want the best deals, the best fights. What offers do you have for me?

Al Haymon: Well right now, we only have one option and that is showtime but hey... you can fight on the undercard of Mayweather

This is costing Mayweather more money, did you hear him in all access that it's worth investing 12 million on a ppv to gain more money. Floyd is a great business man, if it's not sold out, he buys up the tickets.... if he needs a better undercard for more PPV's he will cough up the money. Because Mayweather makes money off being succesful, and at times you have to do what you have to do to appear that way as well.

Eventually the well will run dry at Showtime and it will be like WCW when it competed against WWE in the 90's.

They are running showtime sports right now, and you can tell by how Unprofessional they act. You do not see HBO fighters being asked to hype up HBO and say how they fight only for HBO. You do not see HBO or promoters placing all sorts of adds on competitors fights.

As a fan, I just want to see the good fights, and I hope they end it. They will soon enough!

Random thoughts:
1. Top Rank does build up fighters perfectly (DLH, PBF, COTTO, GARCIA, PACQUIAO) just a few examples.
2. HBO tried to break the ice with Haymon on the Stevenson deal. Problem is that as part of the deal they wanted to ensure that he wouldn't bolt over to Showtime and not fight Kolavev. Same reason they passed on Broner because they were tired of building up fighters and them running to Showtime.

PS: HBO Sports Executive has been doing a louzy job as well this year in terms of not being aggressive enough to jab back at Showtime.
