Defamation is also one of the hardest torts in American jurisprudence to prove. Personally I think this is all a charade to make himself appear more innocent than he is. However, I think that King is forgetting that truth is an absolute defense in a defamation case. In his case it is true that he killed a man and went to prison for it, and that he has been sued by several former fighters for breach of contract, I doubt that ESPN had to lie in order to portray King in an unflattering light.
