He made the biggest fights ever. Brought us some of the legends that we love today and has transcended the sport through 4 decades. King has the greatest stable of fighters and I dare you find another promoter that could match it, not even Al Haymon could build this:

    Muhammad Ali
    George Foreman
    Joe Frazier
    Larry Holmes
    Mike Tyson
    Felix Trinidad
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Evander Holyfield
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Roy Jones Jr.
    Ricardo Mayorga
    Andrew Golota
    Terry Norris
    Aaron Pryor
    Ricardo Lopez
    Bernard Hopkins
    Wilfred Benitez
    Roberto Duran
    Salvador Sanchez
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Alexis Arguello
    Carlos Zarate
    Mike McCallum
    Gerald McClellan
    Meldrick Taylor
    Tomasz Ademek
    Azuma Nelson
    Chris Byrd
    Hector Camacho
    Donovan Ruddock
    Chris Eubank
    on and on.........

    he was a crook
witherspoon was given 30k and change out of a million dollar purse
if you did not sign for king he would freeze you out of a title shot
a few fighters dids ok by him , but by and large he was bad for boxers.

To get a title shot, or be in his "Stable List".....the fighter had to sign over a number of future fights to Don King to promote. It was hard for the average fighter to ever break out of the DK control......plus throw in some "shaky" decisions against fighters who were try to leave King....you always wondered what was "up & up".

It was either him , Arum, or the Cigar Boys. If your were a fighter you were getting **** over anyway. Just pick your poison.

Arum does it the same way. Wonder why Cotto, Floyd, and Oscar have publically dissed him? Why is Manny Pacquiao still in a slave contract after generating billions for Top Rank?

Don King is done. Arum still has a few horses in the race.
