Don King willing to promote Silva vs RJJ

  1. I bet Dana "Mr. Stubborn" White won't have any part of it. I think the cross-promotion would be great for both sports though.

At least Dana grew MMA in the states.. King has done very little as far as growing boxing as a sport.. Don't get me wrong, there is a certain genius about Don King because he knows how to make money from the sport and how to promote it. But that is much different than actually making the sport grow, maintaining good boxing stables, making participation in the sport attractive etc.

The biggest difference is that UFC does a good job of promoting newer younger fighters. I mean, I was actually excited to see Kos vs Sanchez(even though it turned out boring as ****). Boxers of that caliber would be lucky to have a camera in the same room.

so true man. lots of young up and comers to be excited about. that's the good thing about the TUF series, i see Mac is figting on the montreal card aand i want to ee that fight. for all dana's faults he can sell his product.

As long as there is a profit to be made Don King will be there. In fact he'll make you think that it was HIS idea.
