Anybody notice that last night's card was somewhat similar to the big MSG heavyweight show Don King put on in 2004?

    That card included:

    Rahman vs. Meehan
    Byrd vs. McCline
    Ruiz vs. Golota
    McCall vs. Williamson

    Now look at last night:

    Meehan vs. Williamson
    Golota vs. McBride
    Peter vs. McCline
and u can throw in McCall fighting Gomez again in Germany. Another King heavyweight with 9 lives.

Recycled heavyweights thrown onto a card and sold to the public and we continue to watch it. Unbelievable. We know everything there is to know about these fighters and we know that they're not going anywhere but we still watch. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Somehow you right, it would be great if the old guys fight the up comming contenders.
So I have nothing against Meehan, Golota, McCline, Willimason fighting next vs
    Areaola, Virchis, Dimitrenko, Mollo, etc.
Then we will know about the future of the division.

They are recycled becuase the new contenders are not so impressive and fast in getting to the top.
During the previous card in 2004, the fighters like Ibragimov, Chagaev,
    Brock, Valuev, Peter
were new top contenders, some of them succeeded and some not.

Since then there were no new wave of joung contenders, the current contenders:
Povetkin, Virchis, Areola, Dimitrenko, Chambers need at least 6 months untill they become available foir the first title shot.
It is not surprising then the older guys are still looking for their opportunity.
