There is a reason why SR Leonard chose Lalonde as a method to win
the Supermiddleweight & LtHeavywight titles simultaneously.

Leonard would have "s" a brick if he had seen Bob Foster standing
across the ring from him and Ray trying to take "his" title.

leonard or hearns never seemed eager to take the belt away from spinks either. Hagler could have fought eddie or qawi, but chose not to.

I don't see Lalonde stacking up very well against any of those guys. Lalonde was definately a tough fighter, but his best win is probably against Lesley Stewart, and he had a bad KO loss to a much smaller and older Leonard. I think Lalonde would have lost to most all time greats, especially ones who were evenly matched in his weight class. In fact, Moore, Charles, Dempsey, Patterson and Foster would have absolutely killed him as far as I can see. I also can't imagine Lalonde doing well against Spinks, Tiger, Jones or Tarver. Donny had some power to his punch, but he'd be out of his league against anyone who was anywhere near Hall of fame status.

None of those guys ever had what it took to face and take out a beast like Lalonde. Only one in history ever had that ability, and he goes by the moniker "Sugar".

Surely you can't be serious about Lalonde beating any of the all time greats that were listed at the begining of this thread.

True, but I would have expected him to claim that Terry Norris would have beaten all those guys. Of course, Norris sucked ass therefore wouldn't beat anyone of those men.

Yeah, the Legendary Lalonde express would have been denting some reputations in this one. Just don't think he'd quite be fast enough to lower the boom on Patterson.
