I hope the guy bounces back because he came across as a class act, but it's hard to see how he can ever beat Froch. I expect he'd fare better against a different style of fighter. Even a better fighter like Ward. I don't think it's inconceivable that he can win again at the top level of the division

 

Only bute will know if he can come back and be a force at SM. The beating he took could mean he will never be the same again. Depends on his mental state and his confidence.
Equally i wouldn't be surprised to see him come back strong from this, however, I just don't see him ever being able to take enough punishment to beat froch in a potential re-match.

If it was the case I don't have any time for him struggling to make weight. He knows the score in that he is a massive super middle, something he uses to his advantage. He has been tight at the weight before so maybe he needs to fight at a more natural 175lb.

Berrio, Bika, Zuniga, Miranda are not what i would call heavy hitters. Miranda maybe but his power was more obvious at MW. Either way they are not on frochs level and as you can see it takes more than one decent shot to get bute out of there. Froch was hitting him with powerful combinations, something the other fighters were not good enough to do. Butes chin is not so bad, it's the fact that he reacts like someone scared when he is tagged and his legs don't do what he desires. Not good punch resistance so again maybe he would benefit from not having to cut so much weight.

I disagree. As a fan you should make excuses so you can continue to support your fighter. The more reasonable they seem the better. I, as a Kessler fan, know this.

The fact that Bute himself doesn't make excuses is what matters. He didn't and he is a class act.
