I was scrolling through Eli Seckbach's videos there and there was one with Donaires wife talking about the fight.

She said how everyone had come out to support him and then specifically mentioned Victor Conte, who then, walked into shot and stayed there.

What is the connection there? A personal relationship or a professional one? I would have thought any athlete looking to become a top star in their sport would have the sense not to be seen (or seen to be) anywhere near the most imfamous supplier of performance inhancing drugs in history?:huh

He also supplies supplements that aren't steroids to tons of athletes. Take it for what it's worth.

I think he thanked him in the after fight interview aswell. Conte is starting to have a bigger influence in boxing which is worrying, he works with Andre Ward too. Why you'd wonna associate yourself with someone like that is beyond me.

    hmmmm

is that the choice Conte offers?

"sir, will you be taking the steroid package or the dont ask dont tell package?"

Seriously, steroid free or not, the man shouldnt be allowed to be involved in professional sport and any athlete who 'works' with him should at best have a question mark after their record and at worst be guilty be association alone.

He thanked him after the fight on saturday.

He does that IHT stuff. Both Donaire an Ward. It's meant to be for oxygen intake. Are they doing anything else. Who knows. When a guy hasn't got a good rep its best to stay away.

Maybe Montiel should demand USADA testing like Floyd

why would conte supply steroids after being busted like he did?

that was probably the biggest PED bust ever.

I don't like Conte but labeling a fighter a cheat without any evidence is bad news.

Doesn't sound good. Chambers, Ward, Donaire, all fast and skilled fighters before, became superfast and ripped once they hired Conte. I noticed Ward's speed increasing from Miranda to Kessler before I knew any connections with Conte and IMO Chambers looked noticeably stronger and better conditioned vs. Dimitrenko. Donaire too looked something different at 118, just compare his current explosiveness to the Darchinyan days. I'm not saying anything bad as many, many athletes around the world use legal suppliments, but I also can't think about anything good when I hear boxers connected to Conte.

Why on Earth would anyone hire the most scandalous PED supplier of recent years?

Donaire, Andre Ward and Eddie Chambers all use legal supplements and systems from Conte designed to increase the amount of oxygen that red blood cells can intake. It would be illegal blood doping in Olympic sports, but it's not illegal in boxing. Also, I've read studies saying that the stuff Conte gives them is pretty damn close to useless and doesn't actually work the way he says it does, although his athletes seem to think differently.

Conte still works with a lot of athletes though, and claims he's squaky clean now. The rationale being that EVERYONE knows he used to supply illegal steroids, and he's still under Federal investigation, so he'd be damn near ******ed to try selling anyone anything illegal now. For what it's worth, he's always had a legal supplement business.

He's working with Victor like Andre Ward. Nothing serious...Victor has a long list of clients whom love his expertise and reek the benefits. he's paid his dues after the BALCO scandal and now he's making a honest living helping athletes and other clients reach their full potential through his programs and natural supplements.

Andre Ward is probably Conte's most popular Boxing athlete, but I don't think anyone thinks Ward is cheating. the only boxer catching a bad wrap is PAC simply b/c he's on top of the world. Haters gonna hate ya know?
