Donaire Breaks Down Fight With Gamboa

The notoriously tough match maker Beeston strikes again!

Thats a bit unfair, how many people have fought and beaten two consensus p4p fighters? Donaire's got one of the better records going around at the moment. Montiel and Darchinyan are quality wins in fine style, he has a few other solid B class wins that he made to look like they were poor.

I'd like to see him fight Agbeko/Mares winner. If not move up and look for new challenges.

The thing is, Vic was pretty much a 50-50 fight due to his awkwardness, and Montiel was suppose to be a huge challange, and he made mince meat of the pair of em.

I would want him to fight Mares/Agbeko winner, but it's not really necessary. Let's face it, he beats the pair of em comfortably. So the only thing for him to do now is step up in weight. Let's have it! War Doniare! Damn I'm pumped for this 1 now

 

This. If not, Nishioka/Marquez winner. Then one fight at Feather (assuming he beats...I think Nishioka) and assuming he's still looking good, Gamboa.

IIRC Nonito was not seen to be much of a threat going into the fight with Darch' :think If Rigo' beats Ramos (he will, with ease) then I imagine Bob might set that up, which would be a very intriguing clash of styles. You'd think a master operator like Rigo' might be able to figure something out, but he's still a few fights off IMO. Looked quality in spurts against an admittedly very good operator in Cordoba.

 

Vic was about a 1/7 favourite, and it was Ring's Upset of the Year. It was no 50/50 fight. :nono

 

Wow really! It was 2005 (?) so it's easy to look back on it as a 50-50 fight. I had no idea Vic was such a heavy favourite.

No, he is not faster than Gamboa, it is the other way around, for the first time, like you say, he Donaire, will b facing someone faster and more powerful than him, I'm very curious how he is going to react when he gets hit by a full fledged FW too, Gamboa is used to get hit (no often by FW-SFW)

I want to see some consistency in his career. I don't mind fight picking when they reach superstar status but Donaire isn't on that level.

That's just nonsense. Their styles aren't remotely similar enough to make such a statement. Donaire is a sharper, more refined counter-puncher, no doubt. Gamboa is a vastly superior combination puncher.
