Earth to Donaire.. Floyd fought southpaws before.. He can fight out of different stances other than the shoulder roll.

 

Floyd rarely shoulder rows with southpaws. He does at times does shoudler rolls by habit when he fights southpaws, but corrects himself with the high guard. However the high guard can be countered by a straight left from the southpaw. his favorite move against the southpaw is straight right and the left hook and is a forward fighter.

 

Donaire's wrong, it wasn't the left straight from corley that staggered mayweather, it was the right hook. A punch that pacquaio has perfected.

 

Donaire must not have watched fight Southpaws, he doesn't use the shoulder roll he uses a high guard.

Floyd has a conventional defensive guard when he wants to use it, he isn't just a guy who can do the philly shoulder roll and as he showed against Judah, he can adapt his guard to suit the situation.

 

I don't think he is saying that PBF will use the shell. He is actually saying that he will NOT because of the obvious vulnerability to a southpaw power punch - be it straight, overhead or cross. He is saying that PBF will fight without one of, if not the most important defensive technique he has.

Of course PBF has still a lot of tools in his box and the physical talents and smarts to beat any fighter. Donaire is just saying that his traditional defensive technique will not be one of them.

 

Should ask Donaire what he thinks about Pacquaio's weakness against guys who can turn him due to good footwork and fundamentals like Mosley constantly did and like how JMM basically beat him in their fights.

Because Floyd will be turning Pacquaio all the time, sniper shotting with quicker hands than Pacquaio has ever seen and making it impossible to figure where he will be hit from next.
