Who cares that Pac brought his father over to watch him fight, forgave him etc. Completely different situations. The many years Pacs dad spent away was probably for the best, made Pac who he is today, so he could forgive him.

Donaire sr. has been hanging over Donaire all his life. Not all situations are the same.

Nevertheless he shouldn't let personal things like this discussed in public. Practice some discretion Nonito. :patsch

I think donaire would really be big in the states as well as here in the UK. He has a cool 'exotic' name. Has a flashy style. Hits like a mule. Can speak fluent english and has buckets of self confidence (might turn off some people but i suppose haters by PPV's as well). Manny Pacquiao may be popular in the phillipines but nonito can go on those primetime shows and actually leave an impact. It sound silly but you can see nonito on dancing with the stars and the like.

Filipinos has this kind of thing when talking about family. It's like a Mother will always be a mother to her son/daughter no matter what happens. I'm talking about the majority of the Filipinos here. I understand your point though. Donaire said he's 100% Filipino so I expect him to like one.

Who are you out there to judge what Donito does with his personal life. The media especially the Filipino media are making his strained relationship with his father an issue despite his recent victory. It seems people are quick to make judgement just because Donito is not helping his poor old dad from his hard life as a welder. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." It's HIS life no one else. Bottom line its all about the $$ MONEY $$.

Why do I get the feeling that Donaire is the victim, that its his wife and his parents that are making life difficult for him?

I bet Donaire's wife is Jin Mosley mk 2

Once Nonito's wife stopped complaining about how Nonito not getting the same support Manny is getting from his own country then we will stop comparing him to Pac.

I am comparing both of them being a national icon. Something we can be proud of. I don't have problem with him hating his own Dad but to the point that he wants to change his name to take away any connection between him and his dad is a different story. How can you love your country but not your own dad who once become a father to you?
