i hope this is the last time montiel and donaire fight in HBO. HBO should stick to wasting millions for hypejobs alexander, dawson and berto

you can add Mike Jones to that list. The way how the HBO crew was all over him you would think hes the next Ray Leonard.

Yeah but this was a BAD event and a comparatively small show. Strikeforce is overpaying past its means to keep the talent they need to stay afloat, UFC is a huge company at this point. Compare any MMA event to a major boxing PPV (say Pac/Mosley) and they'll get smoked.

You are not their lawyers. They agreed to the terms. Shut. The ****. Up.

Sick of armchair critics getting into financial disputes.

That is absolutely disgusting, isn't it? Berto, seems like a good kid and a good fighter, but really a spoiled brat among champions, getting far more than he deserves, which is far less than guys like Montiel and Donaire. HBO backing him in this way is unfair, completely, but I also think it's foolish from a business perspective. If they hyped up more deserving guys, people would be interested in...more....deserving****ingguys!

:lol:How much do you actually expect guys that fight at 118 to make? That is a good payday. If they want to make more money, move up. Those guys are not draw.

All I know is that I would be happy to receive $200,000-$300,000 in less than 6 mins of work.

Hopefully this fight will bring much more attention to the lower weight classes.

We're not supposed to voice our opinion? All we're saying is it's not fair that two great fighters earn so little while some untested, unattractive fighter to boxing fans or the general public earns 4x the amount. Things will never change if we don't say anything.

Its cause Al haymon brainwashed HBO into paying Berto $1 Million for the Freddy Herndandez undercard fight.

Umm besides Lesnar and a few others most make less. Silva(#1 pfp) made $200,000 for his last fight with Vitor Belfort. Shane Carwin made all of $40,000 when he fought Lesnar.

Better marketing should be no problem with a rising star like Donaire...we cannot denigrate what Pacman has done for the sport with his exploit in revitalizing the sport which should generate more interest and money for all involved...do they deserve more for having contributed to our cultural and life experience.? yes, for us hardcore fan...but for everyone else, it's fair if it is determined by the market condition and we must be grateful that the sport has compelling figures like a pacman and a donaire, a cotto, a pirog, a martinez, a ward etc...in changing that market condition.
