I think with a real trainer Mathebula could improve on some of his flaws but to his credit he knew instinctively what to do. Hold his gloves up to his face and protect the damaged jaw (or cracked tooth apparently from what I heard)

Im not saying it was a gift, going into the 12th it was dead even on my card and the 12th itself could have gone either way but you cant deny Mathebula didnt have a chance with those judges, that was abysmal scoring

pre 2008-2009 I used to agree with and respect Leadermans scorecard until he started becoming biased to the hyped up fighter but with the exception of the 2nd round he did a good job this time

Mathebula was up by a round for me but couldnt argue for the otherway around, its the judges I had a problem with not Donaire

    I had it 114-113 Donaire

The cards were silly but the right man won

A gift? No. Were the cards too wide? Yes.

Mathebula can't punch. His flickering jab looked like more like an annoyance then a punch, basically flicking Donaire with his fingers. I only gave him a couple of the later rounds when he was actually putting his shoulder into his right hand and not just hacking like a man chopping with a hatchet like he was throughout most of the bout. Other then the hight issue, easy win for Donaire as far as I'm concerned.

donaire is a beast... even at a vastly smaller weight he has much more raw power then wladimir klitschko

Here we go again. Heavyweights are REAL punchers. Donaire is only powerful in the land of oompa loompas and P4P daydreamers.

I had the fight 114-113 Mathebula. Very close and competative fight. kinda reminded me of Pacquiao Bradley, but only because one guy was obviously better and stronger but was letting the other lighter puncher steal rounds because of inactivity. I thought both guys fought hard though. I cant agree with the judges terrible scorecards, that screamed corruption, but lets not let 3 judges ruin a great fight for us.

Couldnt agree more, just pisses me off that Mathebula was never going to be given a fair shake

even if he hadnt got dropped and won two more rounds (making it 117-111) he still would have lost

    ****ing terrible
