My friend from Team Donaire has emailed me that Team ND is seriously considering a fight against Fernado Montiel in US soil by July or August of this year.

Montiel is sked to square off against Titi Maldonado come May 5th.

    Calling PacD!!! pls confirm this...

I know that today (Wednesday evening GMT-5) there is a title eliminator for Montiel's title so i'm not sure but that could be an issue here.

Oh this is just horrible for Donaire

Montiel is too big of a jump up
I can easily see Donaire getting TKO'd in this fight

Boxrec has Maldonado to face Montiel on 5/3 this is news to me.

Team Donaire will choose the fight depending how Montiel performs probably.

nah i don't think so...i remember donaire being not really a natural flyweight and he just go down at weight just because of darchinyan talking **** about beating his bro. It was like revenge

That's true but at the same time, nonito has not faced anyone at 115 in the level of montiel so saying that he'd perform well against montiel becasue he fought at 115 before does not make a lot of sense. if donaire wants to challenge montiel, he should slug it out wioth a contender at 115 first.

I thought you are a Writer now Undie??? Don't you know that Pac 1st fight at 126 was MAB & at 130 was EM??? Nonito Dominated 2 top 112 in Darch & Maldonado. All Japs 112 fighters were ducking him. Do you know why???

Because Nonito was a 115 fighter, He just went down because of darch. He's too strong for 112, so at 115 he'll still be strong. Light hitting Gorres nearly beat Montiel. Who do you think is faster & stronger fighter??? Nonito or Z???

did you even read my post? i said basing the match up solely because donaire used to fight at 115 cannot be a valid arguement, i did not say it was impossible. it would have been a better counter arguement to say that montiel's chin won't hold up against donaire or that he is too fast for montiel, all i was saying is that competing at a certain weight before does not necessarily mean you'll be automatically successful there when you decide to go back. chill dude.
