No one is saying those are bad wins but you can't claim either Shane, Cotto or Márquez were exactly prime (and in Marquez' case it was his 1st time at the weight and he was clearly out of shape + the Whole Floyd not making weight thing). Donaire is a 30-year old p4p prime guy and that is what makes this win great. Argueably, Castillo may be the closest comparable win on Floyd's resumé. He was ranked higher than Mayweather, but the difference compared to Rigo is that Rigo was not himself ranked p4p and he outclassed a fighter that was. That's rare.

 

Name me greater victories then. Its just my opinion, but when you dominate so called "unbeatable" fighter, it deserves to be up there. Ok there is BHOP/Trinidad, Forrest/Mosley, Rahman/Lewis..... But to me, this is bigger win then those.

May be for blind fans who doesn't understand boxing. Like I said in the prediction's thread I fully expected Rigo to win. I saw everything I needed to see in the Donaire/Vazquez Jr. fight. A split decision against Vazquez showed me Nonito wasn't all that great after all. Vazquez Jr has a big heart but its not much of a boxer. (I AM PUERTO RICAN)

 

Rigo was only a 2-1 underdog right, Odds were basically even.
Floyds win over Genaro Hernandez was a better win. No need to
even bring up JMM,Chico,Cotto etc....

Also need to understand that regardless of his short professional resume Rigo is at his absolute peak. Right now he is as good as he will ever be. He has been in this game for a loooooooong time

 

Its not about how big underdog you was, but how good/hyped man you beat. Donaire was #2-#5 p4p fighter, with good/great resume, who got ass whooooping. Also big part of this win is how much will Nonito accomplish in future.

What's your point? Frazier win over Ali is among top3 ATG victories in boxing, but was Ali p4p ranked(Can you rank Ali in 1971 on TOP10?)? I'm Floyd fan, he is fighter of the decade, but he hasn't victory like Donaire on his resume. His resume is great, no doubt about it. Pea is higher than Floyd on my ATG list, but his best win is Nelson, great fighter but not real lw. Corrales win > Nelson win, Hernandez win > Nelson win.

 

Ok going by your rules Floyd has wins over at least 7 that
have been ring magazine p4p top 10 ranked.
any one of those 7 except Ricky and Zab you can argue
is a better win than Rigo v Donaire. Dont get me wrong
its a great, great win for Rigo but I'm sorry Floyd deserves
a little more credit than your givin him
