well, didn't donaire already beat this kid in the amateurs?I seen Martinez dropped by journeymen.Anyway a wins a win.
i like fans that know what they like and are willing to let you know regardless of what they have in common with the fighter. saying he is not really pinoy is **** though, if in fact thats what was said.
I wont detest that. I actuallly got banned at Pacland the other year for defending Viloria right before the Sosa fight. I never really considered Viloria to be full fledged Pinoy and to some extent Donaire either, and believe they are just using the Filipino flag to bank on all the fans Pacman has energized(nothing wrong with that). The U.S has as much right to brag about having Donaire and Viloria as much as the PI does IMO. Hell if Canada can brag about having Bute, Andrade, and Ngoudjo, then the U.S can surely brag about having these 2.
hmm says... looks like Donaire is gonna be discussed more on these threads...hopefully if Viloria keeps raising hell he'll get more attention in the boxing community. I wonder how the post conference is gonna turn out.
Nice performance from Nonito (that counter left hook  :admin) but crappy stoppage from the ref. Hopefully someone will put the video of the Viloria-Solis fight on youtube. All I keep reading is about that Viloria KO punch.
i understand that americans stationed in the philippines called pinoys "flips". i don't care if they call us flips but i preferred to be a "pinoy" or "filipino". your wife might be thinking that being called a flip means being crazy or something.
I think with the fact that Martinez was actually making the fight competitive and starting to score, the ref should have let the fight continue. Yes, the guy was knocked down again, but he was not buzzed and was ready to continue. It was just the refs decision that he didn't was to see the guy get knocked down again. This is why it was a bad stoppage. The ref should only stop the fight when one of the fighters can't continue, or the fight is a mismatch. The fight wasn't quite a mismatch.
That's a generalization. I didnt think he'd win, honestly, unless he changed his style of fighting, but I backed him up.
