I see Boxrec is the only website listing Donaire/Sydorenko on December 4th, which probably means it wont end up happening (another reason would be Nonito involved in an actual meaningful fight!)

has anyone heard anything about this?

Nonair in a meaningful fight? It is April 1st already?

Anyway, I wouldn't mind this one, Sidorenko is a classy technician with a stellar resume, no shame in losing to Moreno. I believe he moved down to SFW, but BW suits him as well, so it wouldn't be another roided-up minimumweight for Nonito. I like this fight, hope it's not the next TR promise with bum delivery, but after Donaire turning down the BW tournament, I don't have high hopes.

thought Montiel was in the line for the Dec. 4th outing of TR?

DOUBLE HEADER on December 4th, COTTO-CHAVEZ jr., DONAIRE-MONTIEL

    link: http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/notebo ... paying-off by Dan Rafael dated 1907H 06August 2010 PST

Arum also told ESPN.com that if Cotto-Chavez is FINALIZED, He's Considering a BantamWeight ShowDown between Unified BeltHolder Fernando Montiel and Nonito Donaire as the Pay-Per-View CO-FEATURE. "We Might DOUBLE Those Fights Up and make it a Real GOOD Card," said Arum, who has been talking about Montiel-Donaire for months.

Since Cotto-Chavez is a no-go and Cotto and Chavez will be fighting in the same card against two different opponents, the Bobfather probably thought it doesn't make monetary sense to have Montiel and Donaire to fight in the same card.

    And that sucks.

Sidorenko is a good fighter, however I think Donaire's extra length/size, is going to be a problem for him, Sidorenko likes to draw you inside or into mid range because of his style, I dont think Donaire will oblige, he will most probably keep it long and use his speed, which will give Sidorenko issues.

Cotto is not fighting, Chavez is returning to Latin Fury and Montiel-Donaire was never EVER on, it was just a lie thown out by Top Rank to cover up the disgrace that they turned down the Showtime tournament.

Bogus. He needs to EARN his p4p standing like he has been and fight someone like Giovanni Andrade.

Dan Rafael tweeted that the fight is being discussed, and Boxrec jumped the gun and posted it as usual. I highly doubt it happens. Why would be put Donaire deep on an undercard of a Top Rank PPV against the best opponent he's faced since Darchinyan, but one who has no name recognition? Doesn't pass the smell test at all.

thats what I was thinking, Brickhaus. Sydorenko is a good fighter, and Nonitao hasnt fought one of those in a long, long time. I bet we'll see Nonito vs. Mini Tyson II or some ****

No chance Donaire fighting anyone good or who isnt a strawweight who has been eating 20 times a day for the 2 months prior to the fight.

I'd love to see this but, then again, at this point. I'd just love to see Donaire fighting someone with a pulse. All he's been doing since beating Vic is wasting time.

Since he decided not to participate in Showtime's tournament because he thought he could get bigger fights and more money outwith it, he better face someone like this, followed by Montiel. If he doesn't start fighting the best this division has to offer, I just won't be able to take him seriously.
