Surely one of the most overrated fighters of the last 20 years? Guy was given p4p status for beating on sous chef midgets his whole career. When he finally stepped up against the likes of Rigo and Walters he was shown up as the one dimensional no hoper he really was.

Lol nonsense, Donaire was one of the best p4p fighters a few years back, it's only when he stopped boxing and started deliberately looking for the KO with each punch is when his stock dropped, the Rigo schooling was the nail in the coffin for Donaire, he lost all his confidence afterwards
Donaire is COMPLETELY SHOT. He's lead footed now and can only move in one direction -- FORWARD. But he lacks the workrate and pressure techniques to be effective at this. His legs are GONE. Dude use to be nimble and bounce all over the place, but now he's got brick feet. At his peak, Donaire was a P4P beast. The reality of the situation now is that he was never ELITE (which time exposes).
Ridiculous assertion. Nonito's level of competition speaks for itself. Coming up short against the bigger fighters late in his career or losing to Rigo doesn't change that. Be glad he's the only big time fighter to give prime Rigo a chance, and remember- the more overrated Donaire is, the worse that one signature win gets for Rigo.
It was nearly 10 years ago when he beat Vic so don't give him a hard time , moved up in weight about 4 divisions since? He isn't Morales , but then again who is?
He took a beating in the Juarez fight. Maybe he is shot. That kind of beating will take out a lot of you. Donaire is on his last legs. Fight Quigg or Mares and call it a day.
What is it with idiotic fans and calling great fighters "overrated" as soon as they lose?. I never understood that simplistic mentality and can't even get myself to understand it either.
He was still ABLE to make Flyweight, Super Flyweight and Bantam in his career and beat SO MANY good names throughout his career and literally cleaned house with them. You have to give him credit. Yes he was a weight cutter, and against guys his size (featherweight), he is average, but his body of work was at the lower weight classes and to be frank, he's one of the TBE's at Flyweight. Certainly a first ballot HOF.
Criticism for fighting midgets, but he is a midget........interesting. Donaire is pretty much shot and his athleticism (one of his advantages) is now gone. That much is clear. But to knock him for fighting midgets and he was a midget, that moved up, and still did damage is ludicrous.
