he's lost to everyone at that level and mijares should have had an easy night really.

He was shattered at that point.

Let's be honest, with his recent level of oppo' and a shot Rafa he might still be finished. However, he has been putting in solid showings and has blasted a few guys impressively at 122 so I'm happy to say he's at a decent enough level, even a bit flabby at 122.

Who the **** is left at 118 nowadays? Everyone worth their salt has moved up or lost as far as I can remember. Diamanté should get in better shape and focus his energy on bantam. IMO.

its rare for a shot fighter to win a punishing war of attrition like he did against Rafael, I think he's definitely got something left.

Hmmm Koki, agbeko, jap guy and darch, that's it really. Moreno is top dog now but I imagine he'll stay up if he beats mares.

Rafa is more shot, that makes a difference.

Yamanaka is it?! Whatever, bar King Kong (on the wane himself) I see no reason why Mijares couldn't at least give it a good go. I see plenty of reasons why he shouldn't stay at 122 though.

    Rafael probably is finished now.

Well his only shot at sbw is to keep having crossroads fights till nonito leaves. Be would be much better, I agree.

I still think he's an exceptional fighter (Nishi) but he looked just as limited against Donaire.

Nishioka was never excepional, just a good solid fighter in his day(which was mostly over half a decade ago).He cashed in and\or choked against Donaire which kicks him down a notch as well, as despite being ancient i don't he was washed up going in, just slowed a couple notches.

meh, it was a pitiful and scared performance by a past prime fighter. It's not as if he was fighting like a bear and just done in by being outclassed at every turn ie Hagler Sibson for a quick prominent example.Much more of a Grigorian Freitas effort.I said before it i would be rooting for him but was well aware at his age he could fall away overnight and that's more or less what happened imo.Took the payday and gave the bare minimum of effort.

You really think the Nishioka that fought, Gonzalez, Marquez, Monroe and donaire was an exceptional fighter? i think you need to show a lot more to be bestowed with that sort of praise.

i agree with the top bit.

Yeah Nishi who beat Munroe and Marquez was exceptional, maybe still is against the right opponent, time will tell.

Supposed it's just arguing semantics, but if i call nishioka exceptional it makes it tough to describe someone like Sahaprom, to say nothing of Olivares, slowfre, Gomez, Harada etc

Yeah, exceptional against B-level and past prime fighters.

    Not all that mate, trust.
