Donaire vs Darchinyan II? ... it could possibly happen

    I'm seeing that this weekend's "Pinoy Power" TopRank PPV will headline a match for the WBA interim super flyweight championship between former IBF flyweight champion Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire against Rafael Conception. With a win Donaire can put himself in position to fight Vic Darchinyan again and possibly for the undisputed super flyweight championship.

    If this is the case then i'm excited to see what happens. I've seen Darchinyan express his interest in fighting Donaire again, but i've also seen some hesitation on behalf of his promoter Gary Shaw. Shaw not only seemed reluctant but also bitter about Donaire leaving his stable.

    With a sanctioning body madate and pressure from networks ... its seems as though the two might have to meet up again.

    Even more interesting is the improvement of Vic Darchinyan and his new found focus at the super flyweight division and his previous top 10 p4p ranking (by ring magazine) I know he resorted back to his old ways in a sloppy fight against Agbeko, but i'm curious to see how he would respond in a rematch.

    My view on the first fight was that Darchinyan was doing good before he got caught ... and was putting alot of pressure on donaire.

    What are you're thoughts on the possibility of this fight?

    Darchinyan needs a big win again. But, against Donaire, not a good idea. Shaw doesn't seem to want the fight, anyway. Can u blame him?

    Donaire said this week he wants Arce and Montiel. Arum fighters.

    Anything's possible, but i would think any rematch would happen well down the road. Probably when Vic's well past it.

    But he would have to solidify a world title at super flyweight, it only makes sence to do that ... then he can take on Montiel who's the WBO bantamweight strap ...

    In addition to that will Shaw vacate the title if Darchinyan is madated to fight Donaire?

    No one thinks that Darchinyan was in the fight? ... I thought he was ahead and putting good pressure on Donaire.

    Stylistically, Vic is tailor made for The Flash. Add to the fact that Donaire is really good at what he does makes it very hard to pic Vic to win this one.

    Vic was pressuring Donaire, alright but he was getting tagged repeatedly by Nonito. I think Nonito is a level above Vic and will KO him again the next time they fight.

    which rounds did you give to Darchinyan? He got dominated in 2 of the 4 rounds and was getting tagged HARD in the 5th

    I saw Vic getting tagged a little too much by Nonito's counters but thought that I was just being biased. I knew however that Nonito was much better than his harder-hitting brother Glenn (who lost to Vic earlier) and had a good chance of beating Vic.

    I had Donaire 3 rounds to 1 and then Donaire winning the 5th obviously.
