Although I can see Donaire outboxing Arce and winning a 12 round decision, I'm 70% sure Arce would stop him. Donaire would start winning early on and get the impression that if he keeps pounding Arce with combinations he'll be in better shape than Jorge later, but it will probably end bad for him. Enough of Arce's powershots should get through to make Donaire tired as hell in the mid-late rounds and he'll have to take more and more punches. Arce's power is also underrated (he's easily a top 5 p4p puncher) and Donaire's chin has never been seriously tested. If this match comes off next year, Donaire must take a very safe counter punching approach to fighting Arce or he'll get stopped. Fortunately for Arce, Donaire is too confident for his own good, especially when he's fighting a warrior like him. You're 100% right about the Mijares matchup. Donaire simply has no advantages in style/talent and he's not a good brawler/pressure fighter so even if Mijares has a war with him he'll dominate. PacDBest's analysis about Mijares-Donaire after the excitement of seeing the Maldonado fight yesterday was the best. Something along the lines of "Donaire will counter Mijares' jabs all night and he mastered fighting southpaws now".
You're kidding yourself. Donaire is just a little green. He needs a bit more experience to perfect his style and cover up his flaws, but right now he has speed, power, and good technique. Yeah, he was getting tagged more than he should have been, but that's because he was overly concerned about knocking Maldonado out before Darchinyan did. And guess what, he showed no signs of being hurt. Mijares doesn't want any part of Donaire.
You are underrating Donaire so much, it's disgusting. The guy has a great jab, with power and speed in both hands. He was repeatedly snapping Maldando's head back when he commited to it. The only problem with Donaire is that he needs more experience. Other than that, he's the the TRUTH.
My analysis of Donaire was spot on, but it's no surprise to see Capfunds jumping on the train of some overrated solid, but nothing P4P level guy, as usual, then of course underrating a true talent, like Mijares. Seriously Caps, Mijares is one of the most talented fighters in the world, he's absurd. Donaire is a B level, no higher.
Don't worry about amsty. He's already scheduled for 1 year off once Nonito TKOed Mijares. He can't back out anymore.:good
I will take the bet with Amsty on Nonito vs. Mijares..But first I want to make money on some fool who would pick Arce over Donaire. I would bet a lifetime Ban on Arce/Donaire but before they serve their lifetime ban.... I want to see a post that says "I Dont know anything bout boxing for picking Arce over Nonito"
I have yet to see any reasonable counter points to my analysis of Donaire-Mijares, so it must hold some merit after all, though, the Donaire supporters tend to be not the brightest bunch when it comes to boxing knowledge, despite being arrogant.
Are you talking about me? I'm not that confident in Arce to be making lifetime ban bets, especially when he's up against a more skilled, quicker boxer. But I would still favor him against Donaire. You want a 1 month avatar bet?
Heres an analysis..first you have to get off this imaginary gap between boxing skills...they are pretty even..when Bernstein a very well respected analyst raves about Nonitos skills..it is significant skills. You make it sound like Nonito got hit a ton in that fight .no he did not! We can go round by round. Maldonado..stop making him out to be a bum..he drew with Mijares in Mijares toughest fight ever! a year and a half ago.. After that Maldonado only lost to Vic who at the time was King! As you were in these same forums where people was raving how Arce was avoiding Vic. Then Nonito ruined Vic as he barely won his last bout against a can Before you analyze get objective first Maldonado is not shot like you portray him And there is no great gap in skill levels and speed..ask the experts if you must
Maldonado is way better in quality than 99% of the guy in your avatar had fought and that is a fact. So Stop the hating. Donaire is just 24 years old yet is already tested with a proven puncher in Darchi and respectable Maldo (who drew with your God Mijares).
If you want counterpoints, talk to Orishaman, he made several. I'm especially refering to the way that Donaire handles Southpaws. He's an intelligent fighter, and he has more pop and more bang than Mijares. Even if Mijares is a bit more technically sound, Donaire is the better athlete, and at only 25 years old with very few fights will go very far in boxing. Mijares is just a stepping stone.
