Judging from the poll many feel Montiel will be outboxed by the Flash. I can see it. There are a few intangibles to consider though for those picking Nonito. He hasn't shown a lot of consistency in his performances, meaning he sometimes looks poor(condition, performance) but is so naturally skilled and is facing such a poor opponent that he still has gotten the job done despite appearing to struggle. With that being said, Nonito will need to be at his very best to outbox, counter, and control Montiel for 12 rounds. Not sure Nonito can stop Montiel either. He's got a solid chin. A poor or even mediocre performance from Donaire will almost gaurantee a Montiel victory and the fight could end quickly and badly for Nonito.

Nonito moving up to bantam and challenging Montiel would be tough. He struggled against a bantamweight in RConcepcion, and he may lose some of his speed and agility. While Montiel has serious power at this weight, there will be many problems for Nonito. If Nonito strenghtens his defense, he could much avoid Kochulito's power and could outpoint him to a UD. Nonito should watch for Montiel's short left hook too, as this might pose a big problem.

    Donaire UD Montiel.

hmm Nonito can be hit and Montiel has a hell of a left hook. How good is Nonito's chin?

My gut is going with Donaire. He's way too big for the lower divisions so a move up will benefit him.

I agree with everything except your prediction.I think Nonito not only needs sound defense but needs to show pnd for pnd heart and chin to win this fight.Like all the good once Penalosa and Morales who had to dig out of adversity show good whiskers and heart.I dunno if Nonito has this qty of a pnd for pnd BOXER in him. This is what seperates atg's to just good boxers.

This is a tough one to call.

My heart goes for Montiel though.

I think either way it will go to points.

Has Nonito ever been hurt in a fight? Or even down??

Don't think I've ever seen him even wobbled. Took a few left hands from Vic and didn't seem troubled at all.

Montiel was outboxed for 3½ round by Hasegawa, before he was caught.

    Donaire UD
