Donaire vs Rigondeaux: Boring or exciting

For me it was both.

 

Anyone who thought it was a snoozer is either an idiot or a Donaire fanboy. Or both.

It is called Sweet Science, and the fight was packed with it. :deal

Well I'd been out earlier in the day and got back in at half 12 after an all dayer. I was smashed and shattered, if the fight would have been boring I'd have fell asleep no doubt.

The tension due to having two guys of such high skill made the fight exciting. Plus there were exchanges every few rounds to liven it up a bit.

Between them two choices I'd go action packed over snoozer.

 

Quite the contrary in my view. It's cool to rewatch a breathtaking war but you've already seen them knock the brain cells out of each others nose, slugfests are never that good for the 2nd or 3rd viewing. Sweet science masterclasses however always get better cause you find subtle things you missed, plus technical brilliance never gets old.

I already rewatched most of the fight.

 

Rigondeaux absolutely schooled him, it was one of the best performances I've seen in a while, almost perfect. I really enjoyed it, can't see how you wouldn't.

 

It wasn't exciting or boring. I did appreciate it from a purist pov.

 

sweet science masterclasses never go wrong i agree but for some reason this fight does not do it for me that much.

If Rigo would have done the same with a little bit more counters thrown in there he would have gotten close to maybe stopping Donaire. Good fight but not great IMO.

 

**** poll choices. It was an absolutely enthralling fight, it obviously wasn't "action packed" but it was thoroughly interested throughout the fight and that was mainly because of how much I like Rigondeaux.

 

lol at all the people falling over each other to big up this fight and prove what hardcore fans and purveyors of the sweet science they are.

It was a one-sided snoozefest, Rigo is a master and great to watch but the fight was awful. Donaire didnt win one round apart from the KD where Rigo was off balance. Donaire should never be trying to engage Rigo in a chess match, he'll lose everytime... but he knew if he tried to open up too much/too early he was getting sparked out. The result was a cagey and predictable fight.

Anyone that voted 'action packed' can't have seen much boxing in their lifetimes

Very technical, I enjoyed it. I don't know why the fans were booing. Did they not know beforehand that it was never going to be a slugfest?

I thought Rigo's punch resistance could be a problem once he got hit but, when he did get dropped, his recovery was impressive.

 

It was a stellar performance by a skilled technician.

 

Reminded me of Wlad vs Ibragimov just a miniature version.

Not a lot of action and I think the crowd booing speaks for itself.

 

it was not boring at all rigondeaux put a boxing clinic on donaire even donaire thanked rigo for showing him some beautiful boxing then made up a load of bull**** excuses.
