I used to be pretty high on Rigo in this matchup. But then his whiskers got me a bit concerned.

He is Cuban, fighting a bigger and tougher life back in Cuba. Rigo being fighting all his life against all kinds of Cuban black kids/boxers and street bullies since he was about 6 years old. Fighting Don~aire is just another man with two hands. Cubans showing " the balls " and it shows.

    :D

Well, Edison Miranda had a tougher life as a kid and it didn't help him one damned bit in his fight against Kelly Pavlik. This ain't about where you come from and how tough your life USED to be.

Once again you are comparing oranges to apples, Miranda doesn't have an once of skill compare to Rigondeaxu, I could say that Rigondeaux hit harder than Miranda pound for pound...

Understood but what I was trying to say is that to these Cuban boxers a boxer is just another boxer as they don't care what their last name is. All Cuban boxers have balls. I remember when Casamayor defected, hadn't even started his pro career and he was calling out Mayweather Jr. Oh, and it's not a money issue but a pride issue. Cuban boxers know that their Team has always been the best so they insist on fighting the best as pros too. For Rigondeaux fighting Donaire is just another fight, no big deal really.

    ;)

pride huh? Rigo is getting paid 750,000

i assure you if he was offered 100,000 (his rightful purse based on his record) he would be ducking Donaire and rejecting a fight

    money talks!!!!
