donaire didn't beat vetyeka. the fight was stopped on a cut...and donaire was on his way to losing that fight...and he was dominated by rigo. based on his last few fights, donaire is primed for a full-fledged beatdown from walthers.
I heard that Donaire didn't have a focused training camp, more specifically he didnt ditch his wife and kids and go to oxnard with garcia, so that spells defeat for donaire, or its more evidence that it could go that way.
I think it kind of sums up the state this forum has got itself into when you have a great fight like this in prospect and all anyone wants to talk about is the Pac Mayweather odyssey! There's a huge amount of boxing knowledge on this forum and I'd be really interested to hear predictions and previews, instead those posters are wasting their time responding to ******ed trolls like MVC and the like....
He did beat Vetyeka. It was a clear 2-2 in rounds through 4 plus Donaire scored a clean, non-controversial knockdown. That means a result of Donaire winning by technical decision and there is nothing "BS" about it... Weak that it ended after 4? Yeah. An unjust victor? Not by the rules of professional boxing. I do agree his recent form has been nowhere near what it was before, but Walters is being measured primarily on his undefeated record, KO percentage, and for beating down Darchinyan. Most people probably haven't even seen that fight and are simply picking against Donaire just to do it. Walters looks very strong and to have good IQ but his speed and reflexes are nowhere near that of an even fading Donaire. A predictable lunging and overmatched Darchinyan was able to land telegraphed-Bundrage-like straights to Walters both to the body and in flailing combination upstairs. Put your vCash down on Donaire, who is somehow an underdog at the casinos.
how was he "lucky" ? he had his best 2 rounds and was starting to hurt the dude. he wasn't lasting much longer and all medically cleared fans could see that. he gave him trouble with a headbutt and what 2 somewhat close rounds ? if that is trouble no fighter ever is out of trouble in any match
The mathebula fight showed me all I needed to know about nonito, more flash than substance. He was just riding the manny pac filipino boxing wave like brian veloria
really drooling for this fight, a real 50-50 fight (tho bookies has walters a slight favorite at -150). this could be a tension filled match on who gonna land that devastating bomb. im leaning slightly towards a donaire victory probably by stoppage. see you saturday guys!
Nonito has seen his better days and the Darchynian fight is a probably as good indicator where these two stand as you can get…But styles makes fight and Walters might in fact be the style that Nonito needs for him to look great, a come-forward pressure fighter he can counter with big shots. Then there is size. I think Walters just looks like a bigger, fitter, better conditioned featherweight and as he’s shown us, his physicality is not just an aesthetic attribute, he can really bang. So I’m going with Walters in this one and the more I think about it, the more pumped up I am for this one!
