He wants to fight Mares first because Mares called him out. I guess Rigondeaux should have been doing that for the past year atsch

 

My best guess is that Fossil Bob will attempt to match Donaire-Mijares next, then Donaire-Rigo, and will then push for Nonito to move up to 126.

 

Still a win, as long as Rigo's part of the script.

Donaire-Mares is one of the 5 best fights that can be made in all of boxing. Maybe 1 of 3. The sport likely won't produce it so I can't call my prediction a "win" if it does come to fruition.

 

I agree that Arum's probably thinking something like this. In his eyes there's more build up needed. Maybe a fight early next year with Donaire vs Moreno or Cruz and Mares vs Mijares or Montiel.

Arum wanted to build Gamboa and Lopez into a ppv event but never came close.

 

Bob isn't holding up the Mares fight Golden Boy is.

 

Bob is demanding Golden Boy have nothing to do with the promotion. That realistically takes it off the table immediately.

 

Mares will drop goldenboy if he has to..
