It's too late. Hopkins Dawson was a marketed PPV. Mayweather Ortiz was a marketed PPV. Donaire is a true PPV fighter on regular HBO. That could give him more exposure but to the casual fan, he's a lightweight fighter incorrectly labeled by them with the whole "lightweight boxers don't produce KOs" type of BS. Outside of true boxing fans, no one cares who he is even though we know what he is.

Just like Al Berstein said, we can have 6 great fights, but the only ones that matter to the mainstream is the ones with the big stars in it.

It is so true that people think that way. I had my boys over a couple of months ago watching the strikeforce tournament and showed them this fight. As soon as it started i told them this was at 122 pounds and they laughed saying this guys are tiny and cant punch.
Then they saw the KO and still could not believe a little dude can produce that kind of power. The most hardcore one of them for MMA is actually starting to like boxing more. Everytime he comes over i usually put on a recorded fight while we eat.

All I want from Donaire is for him to stay active. It was so frustrating to see him ice Darchinyan, only to waste the next few years of his career. Then, after an incredible performance against Montiel, he gets involved in stupid legal problems.

Hopefully that's all behind him and we can watch him fight the best from 118-126.

Narvaez is a good fighter but I think Donaire is going to make this look easy.

Since he's moving up to 122 next, I'd like to see him fight Nishioka, then Rigo.
