John is the longest reigning titlist in all of boxing with his WBA featherweight belt so there would be no need for a vacant title.

Your idea is sharp. Donaire vs. John has to happen for me. John could get his second "career decisive" win while Donaire could redeem himself (if he hadn't in the eyes of casuals by the theoretical time of the fight happening) and conquer another weight class.

I would love this if it happened.

He wants the rematch but he was weight drained at 122 and can't make that weight anymore.

I very much doubt that Arum would make Lomachenko-Donaire. Putting Nonito in with an ATG amateur with little pro experience ... what could possibly go wrong?

I wouldn't mind seeing Donaire-Garcia. The idea of him fighting John is fairly appealing but, with John approaching the end of his career, would he want to take that risk?

Yeah John wont turn it down if it's his biggest pay day of his career. Maybe even put Donaire-John on the undercard of a Pacquiao-Bradley or Pacquiao-Marquez 5 PPV for next year.

Lomachenko is not ready for Donaire but if he beats Salido he will have earned his chance. John will take that risk if he can make 7 figures and plus it will be in Macau, very close to Indonesia.

You're right, with Arum doing business in Asia a Donaire-John fight is a possibility.

I also think Walters is up next for Donaire, probably the reason Arum has him on the undercard of Donaire's next fight.

With Donaire most likely winning impressively against a known but faded fighter in Darchinyan and then picking up a belt from an undefeated Walters he will have done a pretty good job of rebuilding from the Rigendoux loss.

If Donaire can get by Darchinyan, then yeah the Walters fight makes sense. Walters has lots of talent so that fight wont be easy for Donaire.

Jorge El Travieso Arce wants to make a comeback and has hinted he wants revenge against Donaire, this is also another possibility. Donaire-Arce did 1.3 million viewers on HBO so this fight would sell.

I surprised nobody has mentioned Jhonny Gonzalez as a possible opponent. Gonzalez KTFO Mares and Gonzalez also has a history with Filipino's, Penalosa KO'd him so I know he wants revenge against Filipinos.

I could be wrong but I think Gonzalez fights Mares next due to Mares excercising his rematch clause. I also think GBP has a couple options of Gonzalez because of the Mares fight. That would make Donaire-Gonzalez unlikely anytime soon but if I'm wrong than, yeah, Donaire-Gonzalez is a good fight that makes sense.

It's simple: Donaire has to avoid the natural featherweights & fight blown up flyweights in make belief featherweight fights.

Darchinian etiology, Agbeko, Mares, Viloria, maybe lure Arce out of retirement

Any natural Featherweight owns him, Lomachenko, Chris John, Russian Mexican, Mike Garcia, Gonzalez will all own him in ways the mind can't imagine

Mares got KTFO, I don't know why Gonzalez is giving him a rematch. If it was the other way around, greedy Mares would never give Gonzalez a rematch.

Who else would you want Donaire to fight?
