Donald Curry, "Hall of Fame" worthy? Yes or No.

Damn...that is really sad. I would've liked to interact with him a bit more in his final years...and it really is a shame he didn't get to see our mutual dream of Curry making Canastota realized. After so many fingers-crossed years, to miss the occasion by a scant nineteen months...

 

Well only 8 months really, if he left us in April...…..wasn't aware he was such a Curry fan. Bill had a highly personalized posting style, and never gave in to the mud-slinging most of us are at least occasionally guilty of. Props to him for that.

 

Oh, by last April for some reason I thought you meant 2017 (as opposed to "just this April" for 2018). Then I'm kicking myself all the more, because I had definitely thought about him as of just a few months before he passed but neglected to actually reach out to him with a PM.

 

Ah, you couldn't have known...…..

Damn RIP MRBILL.

One of the legends of ESB Classic circa 2006-9.

He had some interesting takes on fights and fighters and great knowledge and anecdotes of 1970's-80's boxing.

 

I enjoyed MRBILL's posts and I'm sad to hear of his passing.

 

Bowe was inducted in 2015. It takes five years for a retired boxer to become eligible, so for Bowe he didn't have to wait that long. He was only passed over for two years. 2013, and 2014.

I think Curry was due. My issue is not with Curry, rather the quality of the 2019 class.

 

That's too bad. MR Bill was a great poster and an interesting guy. RIP.
