That is debatable. They are about the same height but I think Oscar's was quicker.

I think it was in the Miguel Angel Gonzalez where I was impressed with Oscar“s jab.....but I just think overall Curry had more weapons, and was faster and could put his punches togheter in a more varied way....

You could argue that, but Curry's was more accurate and he knew how to place it better, all the while firing it in such a way as to avoid return fire and the counter jab. Watch him against McCallum. He was a master of controlling distance, which is paramount when it comes to owning an effective jab.

DLH had the way more illustrated career without doubt, but Curry at 147 from '83 when he beat Jun Suk Hwang up until he KO'd Eduardo Rodriguez in the spring of '86, probably would be too much for DLH at welterweight..... IMO!

Oscar had a really good jab when he was being matador to fighters that didn't really have one.

it always seemed to fall apart or become ignoredwhen anyone jabbed back at him with authority.

Oscar is too polite and textbook to beat Curry imo.You would need to be better than he was to beat the cobra by pitting technical skills against each other...it's the kind of fight Curry loves and thrives on.I just see Oscar letting Curry fight at his own pace and being picked off throughout by Curry's sharpshooting counters. Then when he flurries or goes for the hook, most shots being taken on the arms and gloves.

It wouldn't be a slaughter or anything, and woud have rounds of high quality back and forth but i could see a schooling and wide decision loss too.

Curry by decision. I'd give Curry a slight edge on outfighting and I think he was far superior on the inside. I don't think there would be much infighting, but Curry would win the exchanges.

Thing is, Oscar had a good / big left hook shot.... His best punch.... However, at 147, Curry had a wicked hook and a sneaky right that could hurt, drop and stop a mother****er in his tracks...... Plus, before 1986, Curry still had a tight defense......

The Curry who was peakin' against Elio Diaz, Starling, Colin Jones and McCrory at 147 was a monster at welterweight..... Again, after Curry wasted Rodriguez in early '86, Curry should've moved up to 154.......

I think Curry's power is often underestimated.

he was very heavy handed along with being sharp and technically sound.

The kind of power that could buzz even rock chinned McCallum with a single shot.As far as the P4P, elit sort of Welter's go i don't think there has been a harder puncher at the weight since him.Including Tito who i'd put on par.

Curry was able to somewhat regain part of his earlier form at 154 in his WBC title win over Giafranco Rosi in 1988, but Curry by then was beginning to throw wider shots and had some leaks in his defense... Curry was lucky Rosi was a"Pure" boxer who had strength, but little power...... Curry won a sloppy decision to take the title.....

    NOTE:

Curry fought like a clustered **** against Rene Jacquot in 1989 to blow his title on CBS TV....

I have all this stuff on video......

Curry by a 7-5 decision, wider if it's a 15 rounder. If his defense is not tight, Oscar will put him on his ass, and stop him.

At his peak Curry was an almost perfect fighting machine. He had it all and his all was a half step better than DLH's all :good
