tough fight to pick. I would go with Donald. but if Vargas were aggressive he could get Donald out of rhythm and do a Honeyghan, but I think Lloyd was faster than Fernando believe it or not. And at 154.. Donald was a little less sharp. The thing which hurt Vargas was fighting Tito a little too early.

Curry would take Vargas apart and stop him.

That’s how I see it. Vargas had massive problems with De la Hoyas handspeed and even Tito’s. Curry’s speed easily surpasses both those plus and hes much sharper and longer. Vargas will have no choice but to close the distance. Tale of two fights. Vargas makes it tough early but Curry begins to outbox and outclass him busting him up and stops him as the rounds go on.

Vargas by late round stoppage. Just feel at some point 154 lb Curry falls apart.

Tito's quickness was a problem for Vargas. That fast lefthook. Curry had a snappy hook himself. Fernando didn't have the speed to catch Donald with anything he doesn't see coming. Vargas had pretty heavyhands and punched to the body solid.
Fernando's biggest problem was integrating his offense and his defense. When he was on the attack he lost any head movement. That is why he kept getting KOd at the highest level.

    Curry KO 10

I think Curry would still have the class over him and win a decision. Vargas is underrated tho.

The ped cheat Vargas really was not that good. Curry takes him out like Mosely in fight #2. The Lipstick Mexican wannabe is stopped.

    Shaky vote for Curry. Decision.

Curry has the better defense, although I sure don't like him at 154 instead of welter. I think Donald lands enough counter left hooks to get his attention and minimalize the Vargas hard punching flurries. Maye only like 2 or 3 a round so Donald can weather that kind of a storm. Full bore Vargas that won't back up and continue firing the big shots gets him. but I think he gives donald respect early and takes that foot off the gaspedal enough for it to become more of a boxing match on the outside and not too much of an exchanging type fight. And I think the sharp punches of Curry bust him up---how often does the busted up guy win decisions over the fresh as a daisy looking guy? I think that comes into play here with Curry shading some close rounds.

Tightrope walk for Curry, but he does have the tools to walk the tightrope here.
