    Yep, it was on the undercard of Roy Jones-Bryant Brannon at MSG. I actually shot the **** with Bert Sugar at the fight. He was a bit of a blowhard, but, definitely a character. As to the fight, Jones dismantled Brannon in short order. Brannon was not particularly experienced. But he had recently beaten Canadian Eric Lucas just a few fights earlier. The same Eric Lucas that would hold the WBC super middleweight championship for a couple years. (Until, also getting dismantled by Roy Jones)

    Bump. I agree with the consensus that Curry had more dimensions in his skillset but I can still see Quartey managing to put some hurt on Curry. Curry decisions Quartey in a 7-5, 8-4 hard fought fight.

    The early versions of Curry had real good legs as a welter. They were deteriorating as those title defenses went on. But the earlier versions of Curry had excellent wheels and the ability to throw accurate combos while moving those feet. Don't see Ike landing much at all against that version. He needs the 154 Curry who was far more vulnerable and flat footed.
