about says it. curry does well the first 5 until napoles' movement starts to frustrate and his hook starts to land
Napoles by KO somewhere in the last third of the fight. Would be a very close fight though with a prime Curry.
This would be a great fight...I disagree with the above posters that this would be a slam dunk for Napoles. A prime Curry had a formidable skill set. Both fighters would give each other plenty to think about in a tight contest. Curry usually start off patiently gauging the opponent's speed and strength then starts to impose his own speed, opening up more as the fight progresses. On the outside, I could see Curry having success, but with Curry's patience at first, I feel that Napoles might be able to make the pace of the fight his own...Curry usually kept a tight defense, feeling the opponent out with single power punches after the left jab. Napoles would have fed off this style, by having a counter for everything Curry attempted...and a key point being is that Napoles would counter with combinations (power combinations) against Curry's singular shots in the early going...this might set a precedent in the fight that would keep Curry in check from feeling comfortable enough to open up later on...I think it would be a fairly close fight...But I would pick Napoles by UD. Napoles would score a knock down along the way...
I'm with you - with the proviso Curry is never out of it given his slashing punches and Napoles cut prone skin.
Napoles by UD or late TKO. Napoles is better all-around, but Curry always has a chance of inflicting a cut.
Very true. Napoles was defeated on cuts several times and the fighters who defeated him (such as billy backus) were not of Curry's caliber. So this would logically mean that Curry would have a good chance of beating Napoles.
