I think this could be an interesting match up, probably at a catchweight of 145. Could Chavez rough up Curry much like Honeyghan did or would Curry be too big, too fast, and too technical for even a strong guy like Chavez? Curry from '85 might have been able to decision Chavez or probably even stop him on cuts.
Curry in a suprisingly uncompetitive bout. An outboxer with a size advantage is one thing, but one with notoriously fast hands is a bridge too far for the comparatively short Chavez. He won't be able to pressure effectively.
Curry beats prime Chavez more convincingly than Oscar beat a 34 yrs old Chavez . Unless it's a super drained Curry that Honeyghan and possibly a few others fought , in that case IDK , anything lower than d full 147 as a catchweight , will c a yet even more super drained Curry .
Chavez would be a bit too small, but if Curry was a prime 140 pounder, Chavez would chew him up and spit him out imo.
At 145lb Chavez would win this, Curry struggled like hell at 147 for goodness sakes. Curry didn't like pressure fighters, he liked to control the pace and pick his shots. I think Chavez could stop him.
Curry easily. Chavez never did well at 147, and certainly not against somebody who's bigger and faster. Curry would beat him more convincingly than Whitaker did.
