Smart money would be on the more complete/athletically gifted Curry but then again, Brown had a knack for beating guys that were better than he was like Terry Norris. My money would be on Curry but it would not surprise me to see the heart and balls of Brown win out.
Good answer. And with that I'm going to say, Brown beats Curry, in a entertaining war. Curry rattles Brown and comes close to stopping him, but Simon hangs tough and blasts him out, with a killer shot. Brown by Ko 7.
Absolute prime Donald Curry beats all versions of prime Simon Brown. Any other version of prime Curry makes the fight pretty much a toss up.
Yeah, I'd go for Curry. For a short time, he was truly a force. Lovely fighter to watch. I have a lot of respect for Simon Brown too though. But best vs best version? I'll go with Curry.
Curry reached a level Brown never did. Brown improved post Starling but i don't believe he would have beat Marlon best for best. Curry's win over Starling in their second fight is crazy good as Starling, an almost great H2H at his best IMO was in top shape and firing on all cylinders.
Curry pretty emphatically I think. His straight, sharp punches and surprising strength at 147 are the difference. Yes, Brown had more raw power but so did Colin Jones. Didn't help much in and of itself.
