The best Wilfredo is too slick for Curry, who was a kind of stationary gunner. He had fast hands but no faster than Leonard, but not Ray’s IQ, and Ray had trouble hitting Benitez. I think Benitez wins with defense and deft body work. Curry can’t hit the ghost that is El Radar enough to get into a rhythm and is frustrated all night. Wilfredo W15 by a 10-15/11-4 type margin.
The thing I never liked about Curry is that his head could be stationary and his chin was too far up in air at times and that's how he got caught vs McCallum. Saying all that I do like Curry but yeah I agree with you a competitive but clear decision win for Benitez.
As long as Benitez fights a smart fight and doesn't decide to trade much like he did against Bruce Curry then he should be able to convincingly outbox Curry. At his sharpest Benitez would be far too slippery for a rigid sharpshooter like Curry.
The best Benitez beats the best Curry. Close, competitive but the movement of Benitez is the difference. UD win.
