This is the equivalent of Martinez vs. Dzin. Same outcome too.

 

Donaire stops Mares. Hell we wont even get to see that fight as Agbeko will take care of business in the rematch.

Mares is a fool who should have never left Beristain.

 

Doubt it, Mares wins the rematch IMO. i do agree with Donaire stopping him and that Mares shouldnt of left Nacho tho.

 

That is a good analogy, actually. People underrated the smaller and less known man in Dzinziruk (as they are now underrating Narvaez)- with some even calling him a bum. Consequently, when Martinez ****ed him up they resorted to a dumb "TOLD YA :tong" mentality rather than realize the correct and appopriate reacrtion was to give Martinez loads of credit for making someone so good look so ordinary.

If Donaire does to Narvaez what Martinez did to Dzinziruk (and it's possible) he will get MASSIVELY shortchanged on the respect it will have rightly earned him.

 

Donaire KO/TKO. He shakes off some ring rust to stop Narvaez around the 8th round.

 

Just like that, huh? A non-rusty Donaire just stops an unbeaten defensive wizard on a whim whenever he wants? :verysad

 

Oh, one more thing - as good as the Razor is in reality, the Hurricane is a good deal better. :good

 

Awful match up, the size difference is going to be massive...though dare I say it...I don't think this is going to end up actually happening...

 

Again, Narvaez routinely gives up 3-4" in height against nearly all his opponents and has no trouble getting past significantly longer reaches to score without retaliation.

Granted, none of those opponents are even close to equaling Donaire in skill or physical gifts...but size in itself isn't all that big an issue here. Nor is age.

Now, size PLUS age PLUS the fact that Donaire is primed as hell and a beast at the moment...that could all add up to make this a bit of a mismatch. I still don't think it's a given that it ends in knockout, though (and will be rooting for Omar to find a way to at least make it competitive...if it does come off).

 

I would never have predicted this fight. I'll be thinking about it until it happens.

There's a fairly large puddle between Argentina and Siam.

 

Giving away 4 or 5 inches to Seda is like you said, a big difference to giving them up to Donaire, but it's not just height, but reach and natural size, thickness, strength. Donaire will either stop it in the middle rounds or take a wide decision. Omar will be competitive in the odd round or two but not enough. Though like you I'll be rooting for the lil old legend.

 

yeah I know but his flyweight reign is a bit of a paper one with him not taking on the players there.

I know he's generally regarded as the premiere super fly now.

personally I'm ok with it but would prefer darch/perez/moreno
