I've been looking forward to this one for a long time.

It would be awesome if Showtime/K2 can work out a deal for several fights...

Seeing as he is easily the best out there, and is really trying to unify, they would be crazy not to try to market that story and the fights to go along with it.

On a side note, I'm not worried about Haye. Time will sort that situation out in the next year or so. He can't run forever and maintain any credibility. Its going to be a Pac/Mayweather situation where, like Mayweather, Haye needs the fight for than the other guy. He can play stall ball for a while, but eventually he has to take the fight or shut up and get out of the way.

What I am worried about is if Vitali retires this year (per the rumors) that Wlad won't get a shot at that title before a circus starts.

It will be Vlad Vs. Povetkin, gold medalist Vs. gold medalist, superheavyweight division.

Haye? He will fight Christy Martin. Klitschkos need to make Showtime a deal they can't refuse to get even with HBO.

That Asian broad in the avatar is tasty.... She is some good Sushi.....:tong

HBO always reserves the right to hire and fire on the drop of a dime.... That also includes "Reinstate.":yep

If HBO shuns "Klit-Povetkin" it will be a black eye on the network......:blood

Great news. That is the fight the world was waiting for. The best possible challenge for Wladimir KlitschKO. Now let the Gaye character fight leftovers. He will never be acknowledged as champion.

The scene had an article the other day where Vitali was quoted as saying he gave Valuev something like a month to "think about it". Nothing was signed as of yet.

Chef, how does Wlad rate Povetkin? What are his thoughts about him in general? Thanks.

Yeah, right. Ali should have been DQ'd against Foreman according to your logic. How often did a prime Ali make opponents miss by leaning back just a little? Ever noticed how Mayweather leans back? Wlad is a clean fighter, never fouls, no elbows, headbutts, low blows. Now he should be punished for one of the basic instinctive moves in boxing?

He meant "leaning on opponent's backs"

Something Lennox Lewis was a master at

Ah, English is my third language...

Lennox was really good at it and I don't see how a fighter has to be punished for something that is tiring and annoying for an opponent, but not dangerous.

Another good fight against arguably the 3rd best heavyweight and the best opponent he can take at this point in time

Strangely, Povetkin was arguably better known when he was making his debut fights at HW than Haye was when he was fighting for his first CW belt

Alexander Povetkin is the most dangerous opponent for KlitschKOs undisputed reign at this moment. That would be the best heavyweight fight of the year.

Well, if the Haye fight isn't happening I suppose this has to be the next-best option.

I'll take Wlad all day in this one. Povetkin doesn't have the head movement to get past the jab and I can't forget how easily Chambers was able to nail him with the right hand in the first 5 rounds.

Whether this goes the distance or not depends on how hard Wlad pushes for a ko and how far Povetkin retreats into his shell after being punished with jabs for round after round.
