why are people calling povetkin a can?

he is an unbeaten olympic gold medalist who defeated byrd and chambers to earn his shot at the title.

he is quite simply the rightful challenger to wlad's IBF belt. i dont get why anyone is begrudging wlad for fighting povetkin.

hell, even booth told wlad to take this fight

They think it is some kind of 'cover' for Haye if they belittle Povetkin. Sorry stuff to be sure, but, it is what it is.

I think this "head movement" talk about Povetkin is a red herring (irrrelevant distraction). Povetkin's greatest strength is his relentless work ethic. However, his accuracy and power have to improve to make any impression on Wlad. Against Chambers, Povetkin rained blows for round after round, wearing Eddie down, but I can't remember a clean shot among them. Povetkin has earned a much more legitimate shot than Haye, but as with Chagaev, Thompson, Brock, Chambers, and even Peter, fans only call them bums AFTER Wlad has completely dominated them and made them look bad.

The sad truth is that this "tomato can" would easily walk through any of the fat US HWs HBO was pushing over the last 6 years.

Povetkin earned his shot and appears to finally has found some balls to actually get in the ring with Wlad. Let's hope he can make it a good fight, if only for a couple of rounds.

Yeah maybe I lost my mind but your hero is not on american TV anymore is he. LOL. He can't even make ESPN classic anymore can he. Maybe you lost your mind because it seems that I'm not the only one that does not want to see wlad's fights. All he has to do is fight someone that is a risk to him and HBO will show his fights. He needs to get his weak chin in the ring with Haye so we can see him get his ass kicked once again.

    :patsch:patsch

Wladimir tried, and tried, and tried to get Haye in the ring. Bottom line, Haye was too much of a ***** to accept.

Now name me one fighter (other than Haye), who you believe would be a risk to Wladimir.

Wlad vs Povetkin IS a joke, but it's not Wlad's fault that competition is limited or a certain fighter is unwilling to get in the ring.

And I can't blame him for not fighting his brother.

But yes, Wlad vs Povetkin is a joke. Povetkin is a punching bag.

Haye would beat 7 shades of **** outta Povetkin.

Povetkin wouldn't get passed Solis either.

Audley Harrison also won a gold medal. This is not the amateurs. Povetkin has dismal skills. He stands right in front of his opponent, stands straight up and down, doesn't move his head, has terrible latteral mobility, lacks punching power, is easy to hit, and basically can't box worth ****.

What he does have is stamina and a chin. Think the Chambers fight. Chambers landed twice the percentage of shots Povetkin did. And Chambers is not very good himself and was fat as **** in that fight. Povetkin does have good stamina though and can definitely take a beating.

Won't work against Klitschko though. Complete and total wipe out. One of the worst possible style match ups for him.

Haye would beat the **** outta him to, probably worse than Klitschko.
