firstly i'll admit i've only seen 6 of (nonito) donnaire's fights, but i've yet to see him deal with adversity. i haven't seem go 'in the trenches'. does anyone think montiel will be able to land a power shot flush? and if so, can anyone see donnaire walking through it?
I saw a much slower, less powerful Concepcion get to him plenty. If this happens with Fernando, Nito's taking a nap.
yeah, you're right. at the time i was thinking it might be harder for nonito to move up in weight as he had a hard time with the bigger guy in concepcion. however, this is the lower weight classes and weight differentials mean a lot. im rooting for donaire, but i think montiel still is a dangerous fight. i could be wrong though.
First I think Donaire chin is fine. Vs Concepcion he had indeed a much bigger guy in front of him. I agree with u: the fight against Montiel is very dangerous but I can see Donaire winning easily by using distance. They both very very fast and they can both punch. What's not to like abt this fight? But I can also see Montiel doing what he did against Gonzalez where he wasn't active enough bc Gonzales was way bigger and also stronger I think. Can't wait for this fight!!
Okay. How about Fernando getting put on the canvass by a lesser powerful Gorres.. i doubt Montiel will be able to finish the fight if he will be in that situation again.. Though i also dont know how durable Donaires chin will be.
Donaire seemed to walk through Vic Darchinyan's best shots with little to no effect. But he did, however, seem somewhat troubled when he was taking shots from Moruti Mthalane and Rafael Concepcion. So it's gonna be interesting to see how he handles Montiel's power. I think it's gonna depend on how much of a size discrepancy (if any) there will be on fight night. Are you sure Montiel got dropped by Gorres? I can't recall that. I thought it was Darchinyan who got put down by him. :huh
