1957 Donnie Hall, an exciting 17 year-old 'amateur' Middleweight in 1957. Competed in the Golden Gloves, and several Louisville amateur tournaments. Scored a 'good' win on July 6, 1957 - when he defeated a young Cassius Clay in a 'special' 165 lb. bout. Would later meet Cassius Clay in a 175 lb. bout, in a scheduled 4-Round Amateur Tournament in October 1957, and lose. After a 'moderately' successful amateur career record of 55-9 (19 KO's), Donnie turned professional in March 1959 with high expectations. In his short 'one year' pro career, Donnie went 3-1-0 in '4-Bouts', before joining the U.S Military in January 1960.
Roscoe, Donni Hall, an exciting Louisville, Kentucky 160 lb. Middleweight Amateur in 1956 and 1957, then moved up to Light-Heavyweight in 1958. Did compete in the 'special 165 lb.' weight class, in several tournaments.
