Some guy was calling me a parrot for trusting the judgment of some of the posters scorecards on here that I usually agree with. You'll get it later.

    Round 12

Ioka looking extremely ragged, clinching frequently. Limp jabs up top and weak slaps on the body falling in by Ioka. Nietes is warily circling and picking his bones, catching some jabs on his upturned forearm and then sweeping out to slash Ioka's nose with a hook. Nietes expending all his remaining strength wrestling free of Ioka's clinches with very little help from the ref.

    10-9 Nietes

    115-113 Ioka

Then score it and make your mind up before parroting "robbery!"
Hoping for a fighter to get violently destroyed based off a performance you haven't seen yet is ridiculous.

I think most on the RBR thread had Ioka winning. I have Ioka ahead 7-5 as well.
It was very close but marred with one head scratching Byrdesque card of 118-110 for Nietes:ohno

    Round 1: 10-9 Ioka
    - Both men jabbing early on. Ioka throwing more of them and landing slightly better. Ioka also throwing some nice bodyshots along with a nice right hand upstairs. Nietes lands a nice right but he was significantly outworked this round, which he loses clearly on my card.

    Round 2: 10-9 Nietes
    - Decently close round. Ioka was controlling it early on until Nietes landed two consecutive right hands. Ioka was more active, like the first round, but Nietes was landing the harder shots with his right hand and his left uppercut. Nietes' last 20 seconds, filled with concussing right hands and combos that backed up Ioka wins him the round.

    Round 3: 10-9 Ioka
    - Nietes starts off the round really well, left uppercut + right hand combo lands flush on Ioka. Nietes tries to take advantage but the round becomes more tactical, both men throwing jabs and attempting to counter off of the other's. Ioka lands a good check left hook which Nietes follows with another right hand. Close round heading into the last minute. Ioka's activity in the last minute wins him the round.

    Round 4: 10-9 Nietes
    - Jab fest to start the round. Ioka throws a triple jab but gets countered by a great left hook by Nietes. Ioka lands a couple more jabs which Nietes follows with a big right hand. Nietes throws a great left-right hook combo upstairs. Nietes measuring for his big right hand which he throws again with success. Nietes in control so far. Ioka tries to take back momentum by attacking the body. He throws a big left hook downstairs that backs off Nietes. Another left hook to the body by Ioka. Nietes backs him off with an overhand right. Ioka throws two consecutive uppercuts that land. Ioka really putting his head down when he attacks the body and Nietes takes advantage by countering with combos. Nietes' punches seem harder and more effective, which he proves again with two bodyshots+ right hook + a perfect uppercut to end the round.

    Round 5: 10-9 Ioka
    - Close first half of the round, with a slight edge to Ioka for his activity, but Nietes continues to land the more eye-catching shots. Both were a little less active to end the round as the action was about the same. Close round, edging to Ioka for his jabs and being slightly more active.

    Round 6: 10-9 Ioka
    - Ioka the sharper guy to start the round, with his 1-2s and jabs. Nietes finds success with his right hand again, followed by a jab. Ioka throwing more 1-2s which he follows up with body shots. Ioka tries to back up Nietes further but Nietes makes him miss, countering him with a big ass right hand. Ioka takes it well and they get into an exchange which Nietes edges out. Very close round but Ioka's last minute surge by attacking Nietes downstairs, in addition to Nietes' lack of output, wins Ioka the round.

    Round 7: 10-9 Ioka
    - Nietes didn't throw enough punches to really have a case in winning this round. Ioka was putting in good work with his jab and 1-2s. He's also finding success with his lead right hand. Ioka looks to be in control of this fight.

    Round 8: 10-9 Nietes
    - Missing and blocked punches to start the round for both men. Ioka still the more active of the two. Nietes finally lands his right hand for the first time in awhile. He lands two more right hands upstairs but Ioka also lands one of his own to end the Nietes attack temporarily. Nietes comes back with some jabs as he tries to set up the right hand again. Nietes lands a big right as Ioka came in which he follows up with some hooks downstairs. Right hand followed by a left hook again by Nietes. Ioka tries to come back but his punches are blocked and countered by a straight right hand from Nietes. Both men trade to end the round, with Nietes landing another big left hook and a right by Ioka. Competitive but clear Nietes round for me to end the bleeding on my card.

    Round 9: 10-9 Ioka
    - Ioka working the jab early with some success. Nietes backs off Ioka to the ropes with a couple of lunging body shots. Both men throw right hands at the same time, Nietes' lands. Ioka more active but not really landing with much accuracy. Nietes trying to time the straight right as Ioka comes in. Close round heading into the last minute which begins with Nietes countering a right hand off a missed Ioka jab. A jab from Ioka. Ioka lands a straight right seconds later. VERY CLOSE ROUND but Ioka edges it with his work in the final 40 seconds or so, capitalized by a bit of body work and right hands.

    Round 10: 10-9 Ioka
    - Quiet first minute. Nietes lands a good overhand right as Ioka attempted to circle away. Body shots from Nietes followed by a right hand but Ioka answers back with more thudding body shots followed by a big left hook upstairs that Nietes takes well. Both men doing well countering each other with jabs. These counters that lead to exchanges are really fun to see. Good tactical fight. Ioka backing off a lot here in the last minute. Great jabs from Nietes. Ioka ends the round with two successive right hooks to the body. Close round. I have to edge it ever so slightly to Ioka for his activity and body work.

    Round 11: 10-9 Nietes
    - Great combos by Nietes to start the round. Combos are punctuated by a perfect left uppercut as Ioka was just a tad late covering up. Combo by Ioka is blocked by Nietes and Nietes counters with a right hook to the body and another great left hook to the chin. Body shots now by Ioka, followed by a right hand counter as Nietes tries to answer back. Both men taking turns finding success with big shots. Ioka did slightly better work in the final minute but that success was not enough, as Nietes' early big shots and staying within distance of Ioka the rest of the round wins it on my card.

    Round 12: 10-9 Nietes
    - Nietes is able to make Ioka miss early by taking smalls steps back. Nietes not content in merely playing defense as he goes inside and attacks Ioka's body. Both men exchange with Nietes winning it with his attack downstairs and upstairs. Nietes countering Ioka with jabs. Ioka still throwing sharp shots but Nietes is evading these punches by a hair or blocking them. Not a lot of clean punches by either men to end the round as they embrace to hear the final bell.

115-113 Ioka; Really close fight. Great tactical battle between two great fighters. Two warriors that were sound technically but were also not afraid to get in the inside and exchange. Although I scored it for Ioka, I don't think it was clear by any means. A lot of the middle rounds which most of us gave to Ioka, I felt, were really close and some could argue could go to Nietes. The 118-110 card was pure BS though but I'm not mad at the end result, since I could honestly see a Nietes win with all the close rounds. Nietes doing this against a fighter like Ioka, at the age of 36, is just ****ing amazing and I'm happy to call him a four-division world champion. Ioka is a great ass fighter and I'm damn sure he'll get that fourth division title soon enough. Great fight to end 2018!

We've again reached the same final score in a legitimately close fight by different routes... as is our wont. :sisi1

Step 1: Look up IB’s score.
Step 2: Mix up the rounds a bit.
Step 3: Post as “my’ scorecard.

From sean jones of boxingnews24. This is his view of the fight

"The fight that this writer watched was one that controlled by the 36-year-old Filipino Nietes from start to finish. He was the much better fighter of the two, and had control over the contest from start to finish.

Ioka wasted a lot of time in the fight by focusing on defense instead of his offense. He seemed to be more preoccupied with getting out of the way of Nietes’ shots than he was in going after him with his offense, and this enabled the Filipino star to control vast portions of the fight by default. When a fighter is only putting their attention on their defense like Ioka was, they give away the rounds, and end up losing badly. That’s what happened tonight.

Ioka was moving too much, and not letting his hands go in the way that he needed to. Ioka fought like he was afraid of the more powerful Nietes. From one side, we saw Nietes taking the fight to Ioka, hitting him with power shots and beautiful combinations all night long. For his part, Ioka was more interested in throwing jabs, moving cleverly, and staying out of harm’s way as much as possible. One judge liked what he saw in Ioka tonight, but the other two clearly felt he didn’t do enough to win the fight over the older fighter Nietes, who fought like he wanted it a lot more.

This is a fight that Ioka likely wish he could do over. He’s got to know now that he fought the wrong fight, and should have been more aggressive from start to finish. It might have changed anything though. Nietes was getting the better of the exchanges when the two of them were at close quarters throwing power shots. Had Ioka decided to mix it up with Nietes, he might have been knocked out. Fighting defensively is perhaps the best that Ioka could do to see the final bell. Ioka knew his limitations, and fought the only way he could against a superior fighter in Nietes."

For those who know the writer is this a credible view from a credible writer?

Same score different rounds. Just shows how close the fight was. I saw it as a complete back and forth fight until the 9th, where I had Ioka pulling away and Nietes winning the 12th. I gave Ioka the 11th, thougn I see the majority had Nietes winning it, might have to re-watch it.

Whatever he wrote before or credential he has, this writing sucks.
He seems to have a preconception in how a fight should look like before hand.

I had it even through 6, and ended up scoring the whole thing even.
Still not a fan of the 118 110 judge.

No one on boxingnews24 is credible. It's a complete joke of news site. To be fair though almost every boxing news outlet is full of garbage, but some actually get us breaking news ASAP instead of giving us their opinion or breakdown. The regulars on this forum know and watch 10000x more boxing than most of these writers.
