Nietes giving Ioka a boxing clinic on the inside, he's using head movement to avoid the jab and then land uppercuts that are shaking up Ioka. Ioka looked confused for a while, i think he was rocked and had to think about a plan B. Nietes is one classy fighter, very cool under pressure and good variety to his punches. So far 29-28 Nietes.

 

This will be some performance by Nietes if he keeps it up. Regardless of being inactive, Ioka is a beast.

What a round - I'd edge Ioka who went to war and landed some tasty shots but Nietes came back with some nice counters at the end!

 

2-2 Nietes. Nietes won the round but Ioka had the right idea, when you fight a 36 year old you need to put the pressure on and go to the body.

Ioka started to get success from the outside with a consistent jab in the face of Nietes, he was a bit busier but still got countered a couple of times. But not enough to lose the round.
Nietes i'd expect to go to war and assert his authority again (he looked like he took a round off in round 5)

Nietes batters Ioka with some hooks, Ioka responds with a combination upstairs and downstairs, no effect as Nietes continues to rock Ioka with hooks, the Japanese fighter looks in some bother and isn't reacting to Nietes inside attack and ends the round second best.

 

Nietes trying to win the round on a good start and a good finish...struggling to fight for 3 minutes...what he is doing is better...but is less
