Who wins in 1991 Donovan ruddock or 42 yr old George Foreman ? Everybody was avoiding ruddock around the time he knocked out dokes including Tyson who flew to Japan to fight buster Douglas instead of fighting ruddock in Edmonton Canada !!!!! Anyways if Alex Stewart can make that mess just a yr later .. then I feel razor ruddock if he fought somewhat of a smart fight could beat old George who would be a bit weary of that viscoius uppercut ??? Anyway ruddock wins via razor thin Dec over 1991 (42 yr ) George Foreman !!!
It's a very interesting one. For me, it has a similar vibe to Foreman-Morrison, in that it all depends on the strategy the other fighter takes against Foreman. On paper, Foreman-Morrison looked like a slugfest where at some point Foreman lands something on the less durable fighter. Foreman at that point appeared indestructible; the cross-arm defence and the way he rolled and absorbed punches may have played a part in that. The net effect though was plenty of big punchers teed off on Foreman in his second career without him ever going down. Morrison though, fought a smart fight and was able to get the decision. Ruddock could do something similar, but it's also around that point that he fell in love with his power. So he could end up fighting the wrong fight and getting taken out in a shootout. Anything could happen, but I think that Ruddock probably wins a decision after getting off the floor. The thing with Foreman is that he was so heavy handed that you couldn't do anything but respect his power. Ruddock would probably be able to weather a storm and come back from it, even if he did get tagged.
before Tyson? only Razor, people underestimate how much damage he received from Tyson (Tyson from him too). UD for Razor. But after 1991, I think George, anytime.
In a similar fight to Foreman v Stewart, big George drop s him early, but Razor hangs tough, to lose a hotly contested decision
Ruddock was a one armed fighter, that he telegraphed all night. Foreman KO's Ruddock with a surprisingly swift one-two.
Foreman would never ever go near Ruddock, the proof is in the Pudding Foreman fought exactly 3 three THREE Fighters with a pulse in his comeback, Holyfield/Morrison and Moorer.....................lost two and needed the 11th hour lucky punch to bail him out vs a Glass chinned opponent who pretty much won every single round until the KO.
If this fight had been proposed in 1991 I would have made ruddock a heavy favorite. Looking back In hindsight I’m not quite sure anymore. Ruddock smash left and his mostly durable chin would have posed problems for George. But Foreman had more of a two fisted attack. Was well utilizing the cross armed defense. He paced himself well and had plenty of power and whiskers himself. I might make George the favorite now but not heavily. Tough fight
