I'd pick the underdog, Peter, to stop Ruddock. Ruddock gets way too much credit for flattening some has-beens and journeymen and surviving against an already-declining Tyson. Relied too much on his power and not his skill by this point in his career. Peter was long enough to catch him, had power in both hands, and was more durable.
i respect your view but i totally disagree/ peters chin wasnt all that great / he never bent at the knees or waist / stood straight up with barely any head movment / razor ruddock knocks him out rather easily in 4 or 5 rds
LMFAAAOOOO at Peter stopping Ruddock. We're talking about a guy with went the distance with a broken jaw and ribs against a still elite version of Tyson. Yet bum ass Peter is gonna stop him? Wlad groupies are hilarious with their hidden agendas. Sam Peter was a bum. Get over it. It'd be a fun fight while it lasts, but make no mistake, it ends with Peter getting brutally KO'd.
I just answered the question. Ruddock would knock Peter out. I was simply responding because you were holding it against Ruddock for taking a beating the 91 Tyson. The 91 Tyson was past his 80's prime, but still an elite fighter. Sam Peter would fare nowhere NEAR as well against Tyson. A big difference between Ruddock and Peter is quickness. Peter had some of the slowest hands in boxing history, whereas Ruddock's famous "Smash" was delivered very quickly. He'd land first and often, and Peter wouldnt Handle too many of them.
Ruddock was definitely quick. That "SMASH" landed quite often against some pretty damn good fighters. Sam Peter doesn't have the defensive capabilities to avoid Ruddock's offense, even the single shot power happy Ruddock from 89-91. Peter's beard will be tested heavily in this one. He'd have to land first and hurt Ruddock throughout the fight. Even if he hurt Ruddock early it would wake Razor up, who was good at coming off the deck to win in dramatic fashion.
Why are you so extreme? Fighters you don't like are bums; people who disagree with you do so because they are groupies with ulterior motives...
Nonsense. When's the last time you actually watched a Peter fight? He had above-average handspeed and could throw hard combinations very fast. I think you're typecasting him because of his size (and maybe because of arguments you have with Wlad fans?).
Peter was crude but he had better quickness and reflexes than some folks around here seem to remember.
Peter was good. Have you watched his fight with McCline? How do you feel about his performance againt Jameel?
To be honest, I haven't watched any of his post-prime fights since they happened. Only fights of his I've seen in the past few years were his knockouts of Sykes and Jeremy Williams.
The Williams KO was some scary shyte!! Thought he died in there. So you feel Peter was post prime against McCline?
BAULLOCKS!! Tyson never blew. He attained them good old drips because be got blown. Tyson: The Undisputed Truth
