Donovan ruddock v George foreman 1991 who wins ?

Was it his career best? I thought maybe knocking Razor Ruddock senseless might have been his choice.
It's ok kid we all have opinions I at least back mine with an understanding of boxing. If you dont have one that's your problem.

 

Reread your post and try to tell me that makes sense. Is it your imagination or vast quantities of alcohol that just made you type out that Alex Stewart knocked Ruddock senseless?

 

It is not that Stewart did so amazing , it's that Foreman did so amazing in the selection of his opponents .. Foreman, aside from all his character and accomplishments at that age was very slow ..he couldn't catch Morrison for God's sake .. he fought two guys, Holyfield and Moorer .. he avoided the best big men .. he never fought , Lewis, Mercer, Ruddock or even a Bruno .. Foreman was a marketing genius and used it in his opponent selection. He avoided everybody .. I love the guy but can we get real ? He has become almost a myth .. the second career of Foreman was a well choreographed event .. that said I believe he would have fought Tyson in 91 or 92 because he felt he matched up well with him and totally wanted the huge $ .. he is exceptionally lucky it never happened because the sight of an old fat man on. the canvass would have crushed his marketability ..

 

Agreed on all the above. Ruddock would have been the favorite but in hindsite I think George would have won.

 

I would agree with this although you articulated it much more succinctly than I would have.

 

Ruddock at this point had turned into a brawler using his smash and little else. This worked ok against Tyson who had also started brawling .Formans jab would bust up Ruddock unless Donavan started boxing which he wouldn't foreman would control the pace of the fight behind his jab at some point Forman would catch Ruddock coming in and drop him.

 

Ruddock didn’t fight hand picked opponents. Foreman’s comeback probably wouldn’t have gone well if he fought Dokes and had back to back fights with Tyson.

 

Foreman's comeback was well orchestrated and he only fought fighters he thought he could beat.. I think Ruddock beats him... the fights with Lewis and Tyson ruined him and while he has not especially tactical, his strength and power would get to Big George

 

Ruddock second fight with a still terrific Tyson was a war. Tyson said he hurt for weeks after the fight. I simply think Ruddock would hit Foreman and take him out.

 

I forget who but I know at least one and I think two of the Foreman V2 opponents who did ‘Best I Faced’ mentioned how good his defense was. Tough man to hit clean with singular shots (Holyfield did well with combos).

Razor wants to load up for one shot all the time (that Smash hybrid left hook/uppercut) and I think that’s his undoing. And I think George can stand in that pocket and time a teeth-shattering right counter to that big Ruddock left when it misses.

LOL at the continuing delusion that "Foreman wanted no part of Tyson". That's up there with the "Oswald , the lone assassin, shot a Magic Bullet that went 14 different directions" as far as wishful fantasies go. Ruddock would get rocked to his shoes and end up staring at the lights. Foreman was so much more mentally tough and smart that all of Ruddock's youth goes right out the window as useless.

 

When did Foreman ever look like he'd fall over from one shot in his comeback?

Holyfield bounced flush shots off his head all night and barely checked his forward momentum, Morrison hit him flush aplenty as did Moorer. Aside from George reeling a slight bit from about 20 flush punches in combination (which he recovered almost immediately from) against Holyfield he was barely buzzed at all in his comeback despite being slow and hittable. Yet somehow Ruddock hit's George the once and ends it? Extremely doubtful. Foreman had a better chin than Tyson and Ruddock couldn't put him away.

Ruddocks rep is based solely on two fights he lost and some KO's over hacks and faded names (who weren't outstanding at their best anyway). Yeah he could punch but was very hittable himself, didn't have an amazing chin, and was one dimensional once he fell in love with the "smash". I could see Foreman absorbing his power and either wearing Ruddock down for a stoppage late or them fighting a close, gruelling distance fight either way. I see Ruddock KOing George as the least likely scenario.

 

George gets caught by the smash a couple of times in the first couple of rounds. In the third he catches up to Ruddock.

Ruddock goes night-nights.
