Comeback Foreman was a good powerful heavyweight. Razor Ruddock at this time was a dangerous heavyweight that no one, including Foreman, wanted any part of. Not only is Ruddock more dangerous than this Foreman, he's the better fighter than comeback Foreman. I see Ruddock doing what Alex Stewart did without being in any serious trouble in losing the fight.

Ruddock would tee off on Foreman and seriously hurt him. He was faster, just as powerful and just as durable with better weapons.

Ruddock had one fight between 1992 and 1995 before facing Morrison. Foreman was still active after losing to Holyfield in 1991 and really only took time off after losing to Morrison in 1993.

See the difference? Come on man, you're smarter than this.

Foreman wouldn't even fight those versions of Dokes, Bonecrusher or Weaver. Besides Holyfield and Moorer, the best names he took on were guys who got starched in their previous fights: Cooney to Spinks almost 3 years earlier, Adilson Rodriguez to Holyfield and Coetzer to Bowe and Bruno. Ruddock's 2 losses to Mike Tyson were better than just about anything Foreman did in his comeback.

Facts are, every time Foreman stepped up his comp he lost. Badly. He should've lost to Stewart, who had been KO'd by Holyfield, Tyson and Moorer. Foreman figured Morrison was chinny and took him on. Only reason Foreman fought both Holyfield and Moorer were because they were blown up light heavyweights.

Dokes was considered the 3rd best heavyweight behind Tyson and Holyfield. Was he not? Bonecrusher had never been KO'd for 10 before. Ruddock trounced an undefeated Phil Jackson after he went 19 rounds with Mike. It's not just competition but what we can see Ruddock doing to a fossilized Foreman. Facts are Foreman avoided guys like Ruddock and for good reason.

And don't forget pensioner Foreman survived to see the final bell against a superior version of Holyfield.

Speaking of the fight in 91, Foreman isn't daft and would know Ruddock can bang. He would not take the fight lightly and would go in there on a seek and destroy mission. I honestly can see Foreman busting Ruddock up badly before flattening him.

They mention those fighters because THOSE WERE THE ONLY GOOD FIGHTERS FOREMAN FOUGHT!!! Good lord Unforgiven!

Ruddock doesn't have a great resume and of course neither does Comeback Foreman. But you just love going in circles to get the same point across an infinite amount of times. Anyways, everyone is saying Ruddock beats Foreman because of how dangerous Ruddock was in 1991.

We can't see much of either fighter after 1991 but we can say that Foreman didn't do too well against the best fighters he fought. I made my point earlier and am not doing it again.

I think Ruddock all the way up to 1995 beats Foreman because he was a dangerous fighter who was avoided by Holyfield, Bowe and yes, Foreman.

Ruddock certainly has enough to make Foreman reconsider his comeback.

I think 1991 Ruddock might have given George a Lyle-level fight...though it seemed George at that point couldn't be knocked down.

I could see Ruddock possibly winning a decision, sure. But I don't see Ruddock taking a flush shot from George very well. George definitely hit harder than Mike...that said, Donovan's youth might have kept him from getting hit that squarely and won him the fight.

Thanks for the thoughtful post, @Sangria

Thanks RMIT. Well, Mike isn't as slow as George so his power comes from speed and quickness which makes his knockouts more dynamic. Tyson's explosiveness is more dangerous than Foreman's thudding, single bombs. Plus Tyson has more 1 punch KO's than Foreman does despite Foreman fighting far more often and against lesser competition.

Ruddock could win a decision, I agree, and I agree that Ruddock's youth would serve him better. Would've loved to see a Ruddock-Stewart fight or even Ruddock-Moorer. Hell, Ruddock-Mercer would've been amazing to see if his power can dent Mercer's chin.
