Ruddock has youth and athleticism on his side.

Foreman though, has something else, something very important. I see much more of a will to win in George, an ability to turn it up and get to the next level. Sure Ruddock was durable against Tyson, but mostly Mike dominated and gave him a sustained beating. Ruddock could not turn it up another level. This happened to him in some other fights too, though I think the Morrison stoppage was way too early.

I don't know who would win this, but Foreman is much more of a threat than some people are claiming here.

"I didn't fight Tyson because I didn't sighn the contracts that were presented to me by don King, because I was more afraid of doing business with king" G.Foreman....am I supposed to believe since 87 of foreman calling Tyson out he didn't know King was his promoter/manager?

And foreman fought smart against Young,he still lost, the excuse train can roll on as long as you like,at the end of the day foreman was the second best 70's Hw,because everyone else other than he and Ali were inconsistant..not even close to a top 3 ranked guy in the 90's!

Ruddock was 230/240 pounds at 6'3 and power puncher would pose more of a threat to him,not a speed fighter, because Tyson was faster than Holyfield!:-(

The bell saved Foreman in the Lyle fight,he was clearly going to get rocked...this is not bias its a FACT!

I didn't say Foreman was intimidated by frazier ....."HE" did!:patsch

Amohst the things you chose toa ctually address Uncletermite, you missed the points I made with most of them. Let me explain once again, another way.

    1) Foreman was often gracious, clowning, facile in his comeback.
Of course he knew King; who abandoned Frazier during & after the Jamaica title fight! That line from David Letterman does note xplain exatly WHAt was the problem with the contract, you would have tro dig deeper.
But in another quaote Foreman said they did not fight because eone was afraid of the other, the other glad of nit. A gracious way to cite Tyson's fear & Foreman leery of Tyson's ability.
Forman would never have a avoided a real big money fight or title fight if the terms were reasonable.

    2) Once again, with Felling:
foreman saud he was scared of Frazier but evidenced no fear from staredown through confident controlled execution.
Foreman likely had the normal fear energy all fighters have-that helps protect them-he was being funny & paying tribute to Smokin' Joe.
    Forman. Often. Exaggerated. For. Effect.

    3) FEW if any believe Foreman fought smart against Young.

He absorbed some dubious tactics, & after Zaire was too gun-shy about gassing to take advantage of openings.
He also should not have been severely dehydrated-I wonder if Saddler's rumoured thinning out of him had this effect. Like Lewis dehydrated against Conn 9but that was his own fault & vanity).

    4) I did not DISPUTE that the bell saved Foreman. You gotta pay more attention.
I said A0 That is a normal part of boxing, & if a guy is able to recover because he was not torched until the end of the round, that is not unfair advantage.

    B) That Lyle was receiving a proper beating when the bell was erroneously ended 1 minute early, that was unfair to Foreman.

    5) ARuddock being powerful, not as fast, & a low work rate would NOT be a special threat to Foreman-though it could go either way since Ruddock was so much younger. Speed where Foreman could not catch up with mucho skill was his kryptonite then.
Old Foreman had an even more Iron Chin. Ruddock would hit harder than Holyfield, but NOT the effective combinations that Foreman weathered, hence more total shock & impact if you add up the accuracy & rapidity of the blows.

    6) Agreed on how good Foreman was in both decades.
I never suggested he was top 3 for the '90's though.

    C00nyey/Jameson < Razor Ruddock......

As king said on national T.v you cannot fight the Jamesons if you want Tyson!you have to fight RANKED TOP opponents!
