Well he did win it, and never lost it in the ring and it looks good...no big deal.

 

He won & defended the belt didnt he? Just because the idiotic IBF decided they wanted to strip the true champion doesn't mean he shouldn't display the fact that he once held it. I take it you're a Bute fan?

 

The IBF stripped him because he decided to take a money fight against unworthy challenger Peter Manfredo. I usually don't like it when fighters get stripped of belts, but the IBF had no choice in this situation. I also don't blame Calzaghe for taking the fight and losing his belt in the process.

He reliably informed me that Joe is ducking Lucy Bute based on the fact that Joe wants to fight Hopkins

 

The IBF wanted him to fight Robert Stieglitz who got KO'd in three by Alejandro Berrio when he fought for the vacant belt. Lucian Bute wasn't even a factor at the time Joe held the belt.

That's true, he did pay his dues and won the IBF in the ring. But Joe didn't lose his either, kind of like how PBF has all them green belts to carry into the ring or whatever when obviously there are WBC Belt Holders at all the other weights except Welter.

 

Bute is a beneficiary of boxing politics. Good luck to him but he will need to make a name for himself without Joe I'm afraid.

It is disturbing to see Joe holding Bute's title, regardless of anything.
